For the most part with premium cards I play tight, aggressive, controlled. I usually do not play the river to hopefully get "the card" to finish my hand unless it is early on in the game. Early on in the game when blinds are small I will play numerous hands but as the blinds go up my hands I play go down. I then wait for premium cards.;)

A donkey... and I mean that in no offense. I'm very loose with hand selections. I.E. suited connectors, even if they are low. But it I'll play them even as the blinds go up. But make sure to not play too many hands.

got to agree with the phil helmuth here in saying the best hand should win everytime. I hate seeing junk hit because then i know my top pairs are not the best. It just happens that way almost always. Sometimes it puts me on tilt. Im working on rolling less. Im more like mucker though.

Every day I play I have to play tight and aggressive is the best way, eg not let adiversários see the cards for a few chips after the flop.

At the beginning always play aggressively, if your stack is big there it is possible to play more loosely.

u cant play that way bud, the blinds will crush you everytime u play like that, its good just to get in the money, but never enough to go deep in a tournament, u have to play your cards no matter the blinds, u have to make your stack bigger everytime u decide to play a hand, and adapt to your table as much as possible, but everytime u have to play your hand u can always w8 for pocket AA or KK.

Bang on SBEP. The blinds would crush you my friend. But @ the end of the day. You paid your entry fee like everyone else. So good luck to you but it wouldn't be me.

I try to play with all the cards on the preflop, if somebody does not raise of course. I raise only if I have good pocket cards.

I would tighten up your early play and use that time to get a feel of your opponents, then look for opportunities make a play. I don't like tossing around chips early as play is unpredictable with weaker players. Better to stick to your premium hands then. Later rounds you need to stay ahead of the blinds and need to take advantage of people's tendencies. If you show that you are tightened up, people will take advantage of you and won't pay you off when you hit a hand.

The tournament style matters. I play a lot of rebuy tournaments. In these, I prefer a looser style that sees more flops early, with an increased aggression in the middle stages when others tighten up, usually at the end of the rebuy period.

My style tends to be a less conservative than some, since I am not particularly risk-averse. Your playing style should be first and foremost, a reflection of your own personal style. If you like to play tight, as you describe, great but learn what areas make you uncomfortable and make them more comfortable.

If you get a chance, pick up Schoonmaker's Psychology of Poker. It will really help you define your style and make you more profitable. It did wonders for me after one reading and I will be reviewing it again in the near future.
