So i started today with $10.33 played a little under 4 hours and ran it up to 19.75.. but i took the 10 and took max stacks on 2/5.. thats all my money on 2 tables.. Now that im almost at 20 should I move up to next stakes or just multi table the 2/5s and if the latter when should I move up? and at what bankroll could i start playing the 500+ $1 or $2 MTT? Thanks in advance guys really looking for some low bankroll management knowledge.. seems i go bust when I move up to much.. Either take whole BR to a higher stakes table or enter a tournament for all my BR.. Those 10,000 guarenteed are just so tempting :D

A minimum of 20 buy ins for the stakes you want to play. Ie for 10NL you need about $200.00

Even if you are a poker god you will lose all of your money in the long run with this method. When playing with your whole bankroll on the table you end up playing differently as you are in fear of losing it. And inevitably you will end up running K's into A's etc and lose your whole BR.

Here we go again.

Bankroll management. It is a simple concept. Yet, it is one that people just can not follow for whatever reason.

This will not end well.

Play small stakes.

Greed, greed is the reason

For tourneys you need to have 100 buy ins minimum, but ideally you want to have 200 buy ins or more, correct me smarter people if I am wrong

I am not trying to be disrespectful or a jerk (OP).....

Just time and time and time again, there are posts like these where the poster is playing with his entire roll. I don't understand it.

The OP is probably already busto considering he posted almost 12 hours ago or something.

Even if it works out for OP, and he runs it up there, guess what.... Eventually, inevitably, obviously, busto.

A good guideline is to take 40 max buy-ins for the level you want to play.

For example, at the $0.02/$0.05 tables, the max buy in is $5, and you want 40 buy ins to regularly play the level, in this case $200. This is conservative bankroll management.

Now, you have to start somewhere and if $20 is all you got, it's all you got. Personally, I'd recomment playing the smallest increment of Sit N Go you can find and look to build your roll. If you want to play cash games, play the smallest table you can find and be disciplined to build your bankroll.

Move up to $0.05/$0.10 tables when you have $400.

Yes, it's a grind, but this is how you don't go broke. (I've gone broke several times, and am now working to play this disciplined approach).
