I have noticed when Im patient and muck most of my hands and limp in a few with kq j10 or a few others with position and miss the flop or fold on the turn. I loose 10 or 15 each time if I do that 10 times in an hour thats 100 to 150 bucks but many times when I win a pot its heads up and win or what usually happens I raise and they fold and I take down a 20 pot. Im still down 130 for the hour. If I win a all in for 200 then Im 50 bucks up on the session but usually Im risking all my money or I have been dwindled down so much that I can break even. If I have a higher bankroll will this help and should you rebuy to be at the mak buy in.

It's not bankroll you lack but knowledge of how to play. Poker is a complex game with a skill cap akin to chess. From bankroll management, to starting hand selection, to when to bet and when to check, to game selection and how to observe your opponents and adapt to them there is virtually no limit on how good or bad you can be.

Thats just a dumb answer omaha. Lets say you are the most knowledgeable player in the world. You buy into a session with 100 dollars and thats your entire bankroll. I have 5000 I am eventually dwindle you down because you are going to fold when you know you are beat and eventually im going to get lucky and beat you on a all in and your out of the game. All the knowledge in the world wont change that.

Ive heard 10 times your buy in and 20 times your buy in. On 1 2 with a 200 buy in how much should you have in order to make sure you win some money and arnt blinded or flop folded out

At $1/$2 stakes I'd say having $6000 should be good. I like the idea of 30 or 40 buy ins. It might take a 3-4 hour session to see the results you want. It depends how many hands/hour you play as well. But sharpening your skills never hurts and finding potential leaks

But that's my point exactly; if you were the most knowledgeable player in the world you wouldn't sit with your entire bankroll.

You don't "win at poker" outside of a singular tournament's context.

You upswing more than downswing and this is not down to bankroll size itself but rather your rationing of any given bankroll size.

It's normal to have $100 if you loose have a vacation for a few days )

Usually 100 gives you normal ability to have 500 in a few days or a 0 in 1 hour )

Something is terribly wrong with your BRM if you drop a $100 BR in an hour.

A BR doesn't help you win/profit at poker. A BR is simply the means to play the game and BRM is how your BR is able to handle the downswings.

You winning or losing is a result of how you play and the decisions you make in game.

The bigger the bankroll the best chance to make money, lower stake tables are no good, full of donks going all in with crap and getting lucky

If you can't beat the donks at the lower levels, I don't see how you think you can beat the regs at the higher levels. That makes no sense.

Also, nothing wrong with lower stakes. Many players that play larger stakes started in the micros. I'm a successful micro stakes MTT player. So, don't say they're "no good" because there is nothing wrong with playing them.

I think it all depends on the player and his or her strategy.. I've turned $20 in freeroll winnings into hundreds of and even thousands of dollars before.. My strategy is to play the whole $20 in $2.20 Sit-n-Go's which is roughly about 10. And repeat this until my bankroll is around $50.. Then play $2.20-$5.50 guaranteeds preferably freezeouts and Bounties until I have $100.Then I play the $5.50-$11 freezeouts and Bounties and maybe some $1.10-$3.30 rebuys.. Not always foolproof but has worked more often than not..

My problem is I live in Texas so I cant play online at lower stakes I have to drive 1 to 3 hours to play and 4 8 or 1 2 nl are the lowest stake games. So I cant start low and build my bankroll. 1 2 is usually 100 or 200 for a all in where I play but after a hour of grinding im all in at 50 to 100 and at best back to even if I win that hand. I can make more money at 4 8 because usually Im getting 5 to 1 for the money I put in but same thing it gets chipped away seeing flops. I usually will play a tourney and play cash. I have around 200 to 400 to play with. So with no limit 2 suckouts and Im heading home. Ak destroyed me in no limit and the tourny. I raised 5 times in both and hit an Ace on the flop but in the tourny a player hit a set of 6s and in 1/2 a guy hit a set of 3s. So I figured I dont have enough money to play those games any advice will help

Bankrollmanagement gives you a sense on what limits you should play cashgame or mtt. You have to take more money wirh you so youre able to rebuy and this option will give you some peace in your play and not being afraid of loosing everything

You can win at poker with any amount, the main thing is that you could play poker well and the card does not fail, I raised the bankroll from $ 1 to $ 100 for 2 weeks, and if the card goes well and you have a decent bankroll, you can raise it well and 200 and 300 dollars, for me this is an excellent win!

It is necessary to calculate how much money there is in order not to become bankrupt. You should not risk and put more than five percent of your bankroll at a time.

The size of your bankroll depends on your risk of ruin, your risk of ruin is driven by your long term roi. So the better you are, the higher your roi, the lower bankroll is required. An example would be if you are a good spin and go player and have an roi of 3% you are going to need a much larger bankroll than 9 man reg player with an roi of 15%.
