going less than $1 would be like playing a freeroll to some people and even more people wouldn't take the game seriously. Just play $1 or $2 tops. says 40x buyins for SnGs, 20x buyins for NL Holdem and 300 Big blinds from Limit

I personally would play cash for the lowest stakes i could find. I generally like to buy-in for 1% or less of my total bankroll and then play cards to build it up so then i dont risk going broke at all and can play a little looser which can be lucrative. Once you reach a point where you are under 1% for the next level then you you can move up and play the same way at that level and if you lose too much you can move back down and never risk going broke. If you cannot win at the lowest stakes then i would play more play money and get some more training until I was successful at the lowest stakes so I can always win and never have to continue to deposit more money.

This Depends on how good your poker game is. But always remember bankroll management is important. Go big or go home is another way to look at it though

Here's a bit of a different suggestion. Try playing the .33 Sunday Storm Sat (Deep). It's a satellite to the Sunday storm. Depending on the day/time of the satellite there may be 5, 10 or 15 seats (each worth $11) in the prize pool. Your $30 dollars gives you 90 buy-ins. You only have to win 1 in approx. 33 times to break-even.

Note that unless the Sunday Storm is actually running when you finish the satellite, you can just cash in the ticket by unregistering for the Storm (for $11 in tournament dollars), which is what you want to do. You don't have to play an $11 tournament with the winnings. PS will take your next $ 0.33 satellite entries out of your tournament dollar balance instead of your cash.

Don't actually play the Storm though, as the competition is pretty fierce. The 15 seat satellites are Sunday morning, so if you play any of those you definitely have to be aware of the timing or you will end up in the Storm itself if you win.

I don't think that there should be "bankroll-managemant" with a $30 bankroll.

like seriously ... if you have nothing left of the $30, just reload. (of course I would not play nl10 cash-games, when I only have 3 buy ins ... should be the smallest stake then).

with a $30 bankroll I would advice you to play the 0.25 sit and goes (on pokerstars) and as for mtts ... don't go over $1.

bankroll-management I would advice for $100+

Tournaments are great for the start. Cashgames are also quite interesting, you would need a higher bankroll for that though.
