Best stakes for a proper game of poker

Right,I need some advice people.I have been playing online for a few months and have done not great to be honest,I play well in live events in my area and wanted to try and do some online. It just seems it doesn't matter how tight I play I seem to constantly be losing to players playing the likes of 4 8 OS. And it's getting a bit frustrating. Is there any advice on what stake/level that the poker tends to move to a level where the players don't just go all in with ridiculous cards constantly.Prob seems a silly question but any advice would be appreciated

I have been playing online for a few months now and I feel like I'm stuck in a rut.Live poker I have done quite well but online I just seem to be getting no where. I can play a good strategy, tight but still be aggressive but it doesn't matter what I do I seem to constantly end up against a player who plays the likes of 4 8 off suit and wins with ridiculous hands. What stakes would people say they think the players get more serious and don't constantly play silly hands etc. But try to play proper poker.

I do end up knocking them out or they get knocked in further on but I was just curious generally.I can go fairly deep the majority of the time it's just seems sometimes that these ridiculous hands crop up and yeah in some cases I have gone out to a few of them.

The game of poker becomes serious at the level that you are currently playing at. There are idiots that will play a variety of poor hands that sucks out on you at all levels. Play your game, make correct poker decisions, and trust that odds don't change against you just because you are playing at a lower level. They don't. Mathematics and probabilities win over a long period of time.

From the sound of it you may even want to step down a level. Im not trying to be mean. I had this same issue. I am pretty good at getting reads from people live play, but online it is ALL about reading bets compared to the board, and if your playing with the same people for a long period of time reading their patterns. Online is different, and takes time to play well, but it will compliment your live play once you get better at it.

I know I have prob jumped in to some levels too fast and still working out the best style, level type of game to play. That is all prob coupled with not always getting a huge amount of time to relax for a few hours of poker.cutting out all distractions etc.and well most of all that patience thing...I really appreciate everything yous are telling me.all advice is welcome.

Play the lowest level for awhile. It's very hard, I know, but don't pay attention to the amount of money that's there. Focus on staying in the green. Low limits will also keep you focused on your play, and not be worried about losing money. Once you notice you are steadily winning, jump up a level. If you find yourself playing hands you shouldn't be just step away for a few and come back. You MUST make long term decisions if you're going to take poker seriously. Think about EVERY move you make, and more importantly, think about EVERY move your op makes. Poker isn't about taking gambles on the cards you hold, it's about making calculated moves. Staying focused is key! As others have said, if you can't beat out the fish, you won't beat out higher level players either. In time you will look forward to playing with fish, especially the ones that play every hand aggressively :)

If dude is just starting, I'd suggest he sticks to one type of play. Cash, Sit and go, or MTT. My opinion is start with cash games as you have much more time in a cash game to sit around and wait for hands to play, and see much more action to learn from. There is a lot of fundamentals to be learned in cash games. You need some more advanced tactics in tournaments to be really successful IMO.
