Through a coach or watching video lessons on youtube?

There are a lot of websites where you can get the basics for any game, so if you are talking about learning the rules of the game I think websites and online videos will be sufficient.

If you want to learn how to play a winning strategy I'd suggest reading everything you can find and playing a lot to practice those new ideas. A coach or watching videos online will help speed up the process, but there is a lot out there and you will find many competing strategies.

Do what makes you comfortable while you are a beginner and as you get more experience you can use trial and error to see what works for you.

Good luck to you! :D

The fastest way to learn poker is..... Taraaaaa ...CARDCHAT :D
watch some videos on CC youtube channel , read the articles here about the basics on poker , the strategy , study the different ways to play according to players/stacks/positions/etc , see the best forum posted hands .
Online wartch some videos like sunday million replays to see the mechanichs of poker, how the bets are made , the bluffs , etc , and search some pro videos . Apply these in action on games , not at once in real money , but on play sng REGULAR SPEED hyper 10000 buyin on stars for exersice (they play good surprisingly there -it's better than the freerolls , but play some freerolls , why not , CC freerolls are very good for ex) . When you feel ready go play some sngs or cash games .I think for a beginner it's a good start :)

I have been playing for 16 years and still learning it. I guess I am slow. You can read it and watch the content and learn some concepts in videos or books. Coaching is highly recommended after you some of the concepts at least. Nothing compares to experience including lots of time and volume of hands. Trial and error at the poker tables as the game is so counter-intuitive to most . Study groups / forums and Skype work.

I believe that playing the pattern is not the best idea. These games are very easy to read.We need to learn the basics, and then develop their own style of play.It takes a lot of practice, it does not turn quickly.

Youtube lessons is one of the best choice + online games with open cards like Sunday million or Storm on pokerstars, also dont forget about reading! However reading makes us smarter we can pick a lot of nice strategy articles on CC forum and all around internet

thats a tricky question because fast way with best way is completely different.

I believe that the first thing for somebody is to realize the stakes and the level he plays. Casino Its completely different from a home game and home game is different from a pub poker game.. and of course casino is different from the tournaments we see on tv (or YouTube). If you make aggressive donkey moves on a table full of pros you will win the first 5 hands... if you make pro moves against a table full of donkeys you will lose in the first 5 hands. Being a pro and making pro moves its completely different story.

for me the starting subjects are

Basic odds
Ranges and frequencies
M zones (in tournaments)
Preflop game
Player types
Advanced odds (opponents odds and equity)
Flop game
Position
Basic strategies
Bet size / Pot size
Turn game
intermediate strategies
pot geometry
river game
Betting patterns. Study your own and your opponents
Plan a hand from flop to river against player's type.
Always try to find something new to add as bottom line ;)

The best way to comprehend the poker is to combine all the options available to you! But I think if there is a good coach it's best!

If you have someone to train you, it's much better. You can get all your doubts faster and clearer. Sometimes the video explains what you are exhibiting, but if there is any doubt about the video or play you will be left unanswered.

hope this helps

To learn how poker works only takes a few mins. you probably already know the concepts and hand rankings. especially by now. But it takes a really long time to learn how to read everything. You gotta learn how to read tells if your playing in person. Gotta be able to tell if they are nervous or calm and if they are nervous cause they are bluffing or scared.

For online poker it about reading, positions, betting limits etc. With in person u have all that too but those specific things are most important online. I pay attention to how long ppl take to make a bet and how much they bet past the blind. When ppl shove there is a range from suited to pocket pair down to the AK. I feel as if I see hands cause so many ppl shove so much and so many callers and everyone is on a pocket pairs against AKs and AQs.Gotta learn to fold some of those hands.

Yes, all depends on what you learn to count?
Just to play ? Then there is no problem in the Internet, a lot of games on conventional chips.
But if you achieve something in sports - professional level , then it is hard to say.
And playing with a lot of give and information on the Internet, well, personal experience of the game the other gives it some pros and cons.
But I think the best way to learn how good the game is, all possible ways... After all they will be something to give and something to adjust to each other!

I think the lessons with a tutor - the fastest way to learn something. The obvious drawback of this method is that if you are not capable of a friend who will deal with you free of charge, for such training will have to pay. This is why I view this item at the stage when you are playing in the middle limits, which means you have the bankroll, part of which you can invest in training with a poker guru.

Read, watch some good videos, chat about strategy and specifics, and play. Once you have the basics down and want to take your game to the next level, then you might consider getting some lessons from a pro or semi-pro. The game is always changing, but the best players know what to look for and how to adapt.

I do not know if it works for you, but in Pokerstars, there is a poker school, it's intellipoker.com, there they teach you strategies and other things, with videos and tests and things like that, you can also support with all the knowledge of this site (cardschat .com), there is no easy way to dominate Poker, the only easy thing about Poker is the rules ..!

Well I don't know the FASTEST way to learn how to play poker, but I do know that learning to play poker can't be done fast. So if you plan to better your game, plan to put as much time into learning the game as you can spare. Go ahead and set you a goal out there about a year and when you get there, set another one. You may not believe that, so go ahead and cram all you can in your head for 60 days, and play during that time. When you get there, ask yourself if you know all that's needed to crush 2nl and $.50 MTT buy ins. If you see you have, move on up to $10 and $2 MTT buy in,

Read all the info you can, books, forums etc. Watch videos and even some of the commentary from televised poker can help to give you some insights into the minds of poker players. Play as much as you can and track your progress thru journaling results, key hands and anything you observe and want to learn or investigate further. If you can get friends or a player(s) you know that are better at the game than you to help you and mentor you that will accelerate your game. Good luck and enjoy

You can read books about poker but you can really learn playing. More often you play, more you will learn. I suggest you freerolls for your practise. Good luck :)
