Not to be overly results oriented.

You can make a good decision, for example in business or a relationship, that still doesn't work out because you've run bad. I think many people in poker don't have a good understanding of this concept that is pretty second-nature to poker players.

A good hand does not guarantee success. A little luck always helps.

Do not do 2 things that seems similar but in reality very different in principal at the same time. This is what I get after Playing 2 MTT, 1 Omaha, 1 Hold'em on 2 different Poker rooms. It hinder our best ability.

I totally agree that patience and discipline are both extremely important and can transfer from poker to many other situations in life.

Poker and chess have helped me to become less impulsive in certain life situations. I definitely find myself stepping back and analyzing certain situations instead of jumping the gun and making horrible life mistakes.

Not giving information for free. Also giving professional secrets away can make impossible to earn much in your field (poker books in 20 century and training sites in 2000s solvers in 2010s).

Also that there is variance in life and people don't see it.

TO BE PATIENT AND ANALYZE THE CHANCES OF CERTAIN THINGS TO HAPPEN

To piggy back off of this concept, "When someone gives you good odds, take them."

So often in life, people will give you a chance to risk something for a great reward. We have to make sure we take good odds when we see them and capitalize on these opportunities. If you know only three people are applying for a job you want, invest more in your resume, cover letter, etc. If you're trying to get a job that 1000 people want, then take a shot, but don't put too much stock in it.

Patience is also a critical life skill. I like your thought process.

Know how to work your head towards unpredictability.
One of the things I learned a lot from playing poker, is knowing how to understand and accept what happens to us in the life of the day.
We wake up every day thinking only of the positive. This is good, and gives us strength to get up on the right foot, but if we are not mature enough, we fall into depression and go back to bed in the first obstacle that life presents us.
So we have to know how to wake up and start the day with optimism, yes, but also know how to have the firmness that the unforeseen will come and that we have to be firm there to face and get around the situations, without despair, without going "on tilt".
So I'm learning more and more to face the challenges with maturity not only when I play, but also in my daily life as a professional.
Hugs and successes to all poker professionals and all other professions.

I think this is a great question. So the most important thing for me is thinking one step ahead.
Have you thought to yourself, “What does my opponent think that I think he thinks I have?” No Limit Hold’em: Theory and Practice by David Sklansky and Ed Miller.

Poker and learned in Life??? Play Craps! : )

Play CRAPS it's fun too. Just place 1 $20 bill on the Don't Pass line. Don't matter much when. That's the best bet in the Casino by a micro percentage (over the PASS line). Basically it's down to this.....

A 50/50 BET.

If you hit. You got lunch $ and walk away.

Have fun!!!!

Thank you for listening...... :D

I have learned that there are days in which whatever you do you are simply unlucky and you need to accept it.

Sometimes you must risk in life/poker if you want to win a MTT.
There is so much stupidity both in life and at small limits of poker :p

I've learned the importance of patience. Patience is key in poker and in life sometimes patience is one of the most important tool to use in some cases.
