Well a logical answer would be to step away from the table. I found it hard when I first started playing poker to get up when I was down. Before black Friday it wasn't so bad, most of the time I was able to get my money back. Now there are so many rocks its hard to do that. I would just throw all my money away. after doing that once or twice I learned to change my ways. It takes time if you really want to keep playing without going broke. I go a month or two sometimes now. Shoot when I drop 1k in a week I walk away for 6months at a time.

Figuring out what makes you tilt could help too. Maybe someone rivering a flush "every time " against you does. In that case educate yourself on odds. Know that, that is only going to happen 1 out of 3 times.
Tilt has never made me money. its an ever present dragon we all must keep at bay.

For me, tilting was the worst things in my game. And the worse it got the more I lost. What it did was to put all kinds of trash in my mind, and I would be thinking all this crap while I was playing, and I only went down more. But today I can handle beats, but I'm also learning to make those beats cost me as little as possible. All ins used to cost me the most, so I have backed off on that unless I'm pushed into it with a good hand. Winning a little is better than losing a lot. You never know how the cards will fall. GL

set yourself a limit. for example in cash game don't lose more than 2 buy-ins a day. when you lose them-quit playing that day.

There's a pretty common software you might wanna check out: Tilt Breaker.

Lots of people use this. I'm not one of them but I'm still to hear someone talk badly about it. Basically it just automatically sets loss limits for people who don't have the discipline to stop playing when they are playing bad.

Heard about it the other day after PS released the banned software list and lots of people were grateful this wasn't on it.

The best thing if your super tilt is to walk away and come back later.

I know its hard but its good for our BR.

That is some great advice. Set limits on how much you can afford to lose in a day. I set mine at $10 at my level. But that don't mean I'm thinking I'm going to lose. It's just BR management.

You start to lose money then take a break. Put yourself limitation. Some poker rooms have such a function. Pull yourself together and go do something else. If you can not cope, ask those who live with you to help you in this.

You need to avoid ever going on tilt in the first place. When the word "tilt" comes to my mind I don't just think of poker. Tilt can describe a lot of stressful situations where one can either let the emotion take over or more appropriately ignore it entirely. Also, tilting in poker implies that one is making bad decisions based on either being pushed around by another player or experiencing bad beats. So you just lost half of your stack to a suckout, how do you play the next hand? Are you going to let a suckout get to you and start shoving like a donk? Why? Take your bad beat and return to zen in the next hand. Play like a pro would at all times in any stake.

first, yes you should put your limits, but that's not a solution.

if you are on a tilt you probably doing something wrong, you should go back to study some poker and change your way of playing poker.

one thing that may help is to be over rolled, but you still need to do things like set downside limits and take a break when tilt overtakes you

being over rolled lets you not worry about losing your roll and you can focus on your play

Get up. Try again another day, As poker players we are blessed with being able to create our own work schedule. If you are having a bad day or getting sucked out on, step away, for a day or 2. Poker isn't going anywhere, it will be at the same place tomorrow with the same players. You cant let something you worked so hard for dwindle in just a day because you are having bad luck. Remember all the days and all the hours you put into making your bankroll managable and great. So now step away, take some time off, Go play golf or bowling or whatever you do, tennis, go do some drugs, drink, watch a movie, whatever you do... Go have fun, If you have a poker bankroll then poker is more than likely a source of income for you and you need a break from work. Go take yourself out of work for awhile, go on a mini vacation and come back refreshed and ready to play better than ever. If it happens again, rinse and repeat until you are sure you are no longer on tilt and are feeling better about your game. Even stop and read and post some forums and help some less fortunate players improve their game. Do anything to distract you but do not let yourself give all that hard earned money away just because of a couple bad players or a couple of bad beats. Good luck and take a break homie.

The comments here helped me too.. I changed the site of playing poker, I used to play in a site where it was played in the fash player and in the browser itself, I use to win good and also lost lot.. The shuffle system, players playing, i had doughts on the players, i changed the site, now I dont win lot but also don't lose lot, the conclusion is about selection of a good site software and always try to play good..:)

If you find yourself about to tilt, just try to relax, take a few deep breaths and clear your mind. It works well for me. Good luck!

i dont really tilt in games got to have cards but setting rules for your bankroll helps as move up slowly decide the percentages you will play stick by it as you build your bankroll if upset having a bad day walk away that is the percentages thing you got to have ground rules if you could discuss your plan am sure plenty of suggestions good ones will come.

playing mad or scared doesnt work much sometimes the aggression can help but to me you were meant to win at that point luck is involved in poker everyone makes mistakes if your on tilt for mistakes adjust and learn from them if your just angry cause your being beat you got to look at overall game decipher what can change about your life.

i go into each game no expectation im playing for fun and love of matching wits and beating those whom believe they can beat me is a healthy thing like having other pursuits and life so my main rule is if you cant burn the money dont play with it that is number one rule second would be to realize you cannot win a tournament under the time limit of that tournament meaning you dont need chip lead from the first hand etc..

im a tourney player just dont tilt cause its fun to me not about winning all the time just making the right choices as they come up learning your other players tells and mistakes using them as you learn more on them etc...

having a short memory helps

Never play on tilt. If you have 50 000$ bankroll - you will loose it. Just leave poker for a time.

The basic concept here is walking away. This is far harder to do than it is to say. You really have to have an iron will and to do this you need to set yourself targets which must not be broken (at any cost). The one simple rule, is do not chase your losses. You will know when you are doing this, cos you will be thinking, if I can just win this one..... Or ,.... I'll give it until......

This is the time to walk away. Detilt yourself and come back another time, which may be a few days or weeks later.

It is impossible to control at this time , you just think to get back what you lost and that is when you end up being eliminated from the tournament . There is no trick or something that will reverse your loss, the secret is not to want to recover , losing is acceptable with better hands. Keep calm and follow playing.

One of my biggest problems with continuing to play on tilt is recognizing at the time that I am on TILT. Learn to recognize your actions and thoughts when on tilt so you can then take the suggested steps to overcome it.

Playing on tilt is the easiest way to watch your bank roll walk right out that door that you should have walked out of prior to your bank roll beating you to the door.
