I wanna start play MTT with BR 250. I saw a marathon by Dmitriy Urbanovich, where he tries to reach 10000$ from 250. What should I prefer: to read books or other literature or watch his streams and other marathon streams?

Good afternoon my dear, how are you? Watching live sessions / reviews I believe is an excellent way to study and review some studied content. If we can't get confused with the limits we play, I myself have several mistakes in relation to things that are not necessary to make low limits and therefore I am adjusting. Believe that all technical content is valid. Good luck on this journey! However, if each day that passes poker, it will be becoming more difficult due to this information.

All the ways of learning are good. ;) There aren't that much new books anymore on the market AFAIK. But there still some good old ones. But except the maths behind Poker develops. I would recommend you to watch streams and also discuss hands with other (better) players and here in the forum. There you'll get a lot of inspiration!

Of course, watching professionals like Urbanovich is much more interesting than reading books, I like to see how good-looking players play in real time, it helps me a lot

All of the above! Read books and articles for different strategies. Watch streams and videos for guidance. Try out different ideas in lower stake tournaments and cash games, and then you'll build your repertoire.

I agree with the dude. Don't rely on just one source. Some people don't like to read, I'm one, but I have read some books and online articles and found them effective. The key to all of this is to apply what you have learned to your game and analyse what effect it has on your game. I have found that it is good to work on a few things at a time. Then see where it has improved or degraded your game.

Play as much as your bankroll and time allows. Study the hands you play more than looking at streams. Learn as much as you can about your hand selection, position and VPIP before looking at other streamers. There are other places to learn as well. I don't like to look at just a stream or pros. Game theory can change depending on limits.

Watch online tournaments on Youtube, you can learn alot watching the great ones play (Negreanu, Ivey etc.). Start by watching the old ones, say 5-10 years ago, they are much more entertaining.

There are lots of great twitch streams out there from pros which is great as you get to see how to play each hand and in what situations. They often tell you their thought process as well. Sometimes, when I have time, I’ll pause the stream before they say what they r going to do and make the decision. Then see if they do the same.

The only problem I find is that they play such higher stakes that it’s often not the same at the small stakes. Example players call down to river or go all in with junk.

I honestly get more information from hand reviews than any one book. I have probably also learned more about the game of poker from listening to podcasts and clips that include Nick Schulman than just about anyone else. His depth of knowledge in the game is just humbling.

The pro players are fantastic

I really like to watch how pro players play, it really is fantastic, both the tournaments broadcast, as well as in the mind of a pro, from winamax, it is fantastic how you think these people and their great way of playing

The main question is that without the necessary theoretical knowledge, watching the game of the pros online, you will not be able to parse the situation into its constituent moments in order to understand why certain decisions were made in specific cases. Therefore, the initial training always starts with the theory of poker, then comes the analysis of various situations and hands at the table, then watching the game pro and after you begin to understand why he played this or that hand in this way, apply the acquired skills in the game .

I agree with those who have recommended both playing and studying various media (books, online, watching streamers, etc.) I think it is important to remember when you are watching poker, the games are usually at a much higher level (stakes and experience) than most of us play.

The best thing you have to do is to find new articles and ebooks. When you read books from a bookshop, the books might refer to a past type of playing and winning in texas holdem. In contrast, by watching famous players, you take knowledge but you improve your game in their situation. I mean that if you play at micro stakes and you watch players who are playing in big stakes, you play a different game. So their abilities are useful but especially in their stakes. So I believe that the best way to learn about this game is to be updated about the meta of poker every time by reading articles and ebooks.

I watch Dmitriy Urbanovich too but wish I could speak Russian. He stated that this challenge will be entirely in non English.

IMO just watching a pro will make some difference but your personal endeavor and study will make the major difference. So reading articles and watch coaching videos should be your priority.I don't know if books nowadays are ''outdated'' but there is so much quality(free/paid) content out there.

Best of Luck!

I think a mixture of everything could be a good idea because different things you learn at different places (books, videos..) with different pro players and specialists, so try to do your best
