What would be the best reason to wait for the big blinds when you get into in a ring game?

If you don't you have to pay to get in no matter your position. Also if you wait you can get a small read on your opponents who are at your table.

In my opinion it is that you can see the moves from your opponents but you shouldnt play in that positions the most of times. It is complicated to handle them...

Also if you do join early, most likely you'll have a bad/marginal hand at best and good players will know this.

So they can push you off the hand or entice you to bluff your mediocre hand, All in all its a waste of money :)

Sometimes if the players are that bad I won't wait because I risk missing making some ez money.

Because its the worst position to be in. You might think its only 1 big blind but if you consistently do it, it will add up over the long run

because buying in early is throwing money away over the long run. There is a reason that the BB and the SB are losing positions over the long run. You don't want to give other positions that same treatment.

Playing on BBs doesnt win u the pot. To win the pot u must have the best hand and the best hand can be given to u in every position.
Usually waiting for the big blind is used when u r short stack and dont waste chips which u will lose posting BB anyway.
If u feel like u hold a strong hand just play it best u can whatever your position is on the table.

... You lose BB's by posting when you don't need to. doesn't matter if you are short or deep stacked.

don't waste money in poker, even 1bb, because you want to maximize your winnings as much as you can.

As said it's just wasting money especially if you are posting in EP.. You need patience in poker so you should be able to have the patience to wait 3 or 4 hands to play..

there are no advantages or edge to posting early and a huge leak of profit in the long run in doing so

If you're taking a seat right after the button, you might want to go ahead and post in. Usually if I'm newly seated, and there are at least 5 seats ahead of me for the button, I'll go ahead and post in.

Because you will have a force post of blinds if you enter for the first time at any position. So, its better to just wait the bigblind position since its the usual position to post it.

Isn't cutoff and hijack positions better to pick up blinds by 3xBB bet preflop?
Please correct my understanding if it isn't right. Thanks

Thanks. On top of that, sitting out 3 - 4 hands gives a brief understanding of the table dynamics. In reference to the hilarious video posted on this forum yesterday: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKR1rrjvq-I you kinda get to know who's the boss before entering. LOL

it is a equal situation when you play multi table.
PS: full ring table , throw in big blinds at Cut off is 100% +EV than waiting for big blinds :D
but you could not do that opening more than 2 tables.

Before playing on ring tables I observe for a while to get a read on others tendencies. If most of players are already marked, then its not so important. The reason for this is simple. I dont like my poker with aggressive donks. So if the tables are full of them, I will simply find another one.

When first joining a table, I wait for my BB to come around. There is no particular reason apart from being out of position & that when I first started I use to get straight into it, only to get crap cards on that first round anyway.

If I have to wait for my BB only to get bad cards, then I would leave that table after a few rounds, because in the past I have found that it wont get any better on that table for the day. Same goes for if I dont hit any flops, I will tend to leave & try again another day. Losing a few coins is better than drawing dead all day. Besides there are so many tables to choose from on-line.
