Is a VPIP % of 15 to low? I have tracked almost 2,000 hands now. My VPIP is hovering between 15 - 17. Too low? Too high? Just right?

IM only playing full ring and mu vpip is little lower than 15, if you are playing full ring you are right there, maybe cut some hands from early position and you are at the gold which is between 12 and 15. For 6 max i think that vpip should be somewhere between 20 and 25 so if you are 6 maxing you are to tight...

There's no number that's ideal for everyone. It can depend on various factors such as your skill and style, that of your opponents, etc. That said, 15 is on the tight side assuming you play full tables. It's even tighter if you play 6max.

The reason I asked. I have started to play a wider range. My game has improved and I am more confident of post flop play. My VPIP has slowly been increasing. Is it good to be seen as loose and aggressive? I still play fairly tight but I like to play hands like 9 7 suited if I can limp in on them.

your missing the whole point i would not open limp almost ever in tournies and hands like 79s is trash but you could maybe min raise them on the button or something

you need to look at some training sites and watch some of the fundamental videos on basic mechanics because it sounds like your very lacking

It's not good poker to raise your VPIP by limping more. With 15 VPIP, your PFR should be about 12-13, meaning that when you enter pots, you do so by raising far more often than by limping or calling.

If you raise your VPIP to say 20, your PFR should still be only 2-3 lower; i.e. 17-18.

With your current 15 VPIP, if your current PFR is below 12-13, I'd focus on raising your PFR first. Play the hands you play now better before you start playing a wider range.
