Do you play differently when you are using freeroll winnings to play with as opposed to money you have actually deposited? Like more loose with freeroll winnings?

Usually, people who slowly built their bankroll from freerolls are more serious about bankroll management.

I don't think that I totally agree with that. As for me an entry fee is an entry fee ( same for cash is cash on a live table). No matter from winnings or deposits. However if it is from winnings you have to keep in mind and ask yourself.(Should I play in the same manner in this tourney and/or cash game. That allowed me to accumulated these winning in the first place, or change it up.)

I play the same regardless of my method of receiving the funds.. cash is cash. Playing freerolls money is harder to come by so I could see if some players may be tighter knowing it doesnt come around everyday.

freeroll vs. money play

I personally do not. I have continued to make attempts to improve my game, no matter what play. Bankroll management, Hand Value, Position, dodging all-in beats, making it into the top 10% in a multi-table freeroll tournament, being in the top three of a 6-man tournament or top 4 in an 8-man is always my goal. Free education. Great learning experience.

I'm one of the guys who plays tighter with earned freeroll money. I know that it was hard to win so I don't want to just waste it. But what usually happens then is that I play too tight and end up letting the blinds eat away at my stack.

I have never deposited my own money so I can't account for both sides but I play seriously with my freeroll winnings

Yea I have never made a deposit ever. Building it from freerolls and micro stakes has made it more of a grind. But I just play as a pass time right now.

Interesting question. I remember hearing a poker pro online talking about how you can't look at the chips in the pot as a house or a new car or apartment. You just have to look at the value and where you lie in the hand with your position.

As for me, I try and replicate that. I try not to think so much about the money but certainly trying my best to stay within my bankroll with the temptations that come after a long run that ends up in a loss.

I don't really make a difference. Money is money, whether you earned it by playing, or earned it some other way then deposited, it shouldn't make any difference. It is money, your bankroll, you can either continue to play good and win more, or lose it all. Also, Freeroll winnings are usually small, compared to what you can, and in general, what people are depositing. For example, you win 1-2$ via freeroll, but deposit can not be less then 10. Perhaps, it is the amount of money in the bank, and not it's history..

Maybe for someone this money does not mean anything. I treat them as my own.

Money is money = no matter how you got it, won a freeroll or made a deposit. This is your money and you should use it reasonably.

Freerolls are hard to win, but if you win in freeroll you will play carefully with this winnings, because you know how hard they were given to you.

No , bankroll management is bankroll management . If you treat it differently it is too hard to track how good or bad your play is . It important to keep your game consistant so you can keep improving it .

I play the same way with freeroll winnings and deposited money because all of them are real money

You need to be serious about every penny.
