Kind of ashamed to admit, but I have a very limited understanding of equity, counting my outs, pot odds and how it all fits together. If anyone could recommend any literature or explanation of the topic I would be really grateful.

Some poker client show your odds or you can use external programs if not.

I know about the ones on poker school but they're usually so convoluted and hard to understand.. I like layman's terms. I've started getting a grip on it just today from thinking hard about the hands I play. Thanks for the tip, I'll check out the ones here.

I know, but I feel it's much better to have all of that in your head rather than relying on software to do the job for you. And I do believe 3rd party software like that is against the rules to be running while a poker room is running on your PC. The pot odds software at least.

Knowing all those things makes you a better online player, but also a MUCH better live player.

Edit: I've just noticed how like 8/10 of my sentances start with either "I" or "I know". Stuck up, little, self-important brat... I'm pretty much already halfway to being the 14 time wsop braclet holder.
