I've had these questions wrote down for a few days so decided to post them today. Ok I have two questions. Why does a play call a river all in with a sure loser. I love them like brother and sister. But I have always wondered that and thought I may get some funny answers LOL Ok, the next one. Why does the low stack in the small blind go all in to steal my 10 cents when he could lay back and hope the BB raises and may get that $1.50 all in there. LOL Thanks guys/gals for helping me to stop doing this stupid chit. LOL

Most players steal from the BB around 5% of time i think, so not much point in hoping they do if in the SB

"Why does a play call a river all in with a sure loser."

A couple possible reasons comes to my mind. Mostly those are the bad players who don't know when they should give up and fold. I never do this in cash games but sometimes in freerolls I am just calling with a sure loser to see what the opponent has. It's pretty efficient way to practice reading your opponents hands.

1. Maybe they think they are good on you and they have the best hand ?:)
2. Lets say you have k 4 suited from the SB and everyone folded to you , What are the chances that the BB has a better hand than you ? He can have AA or he can have 2-4 , If there is alot of dead money in the pot (Ante and Blinds) , Stealing it from the BB is a good move. You might run to monsters tho xD :].

Any player calling the river clearly doesn't believe they have a loser. Either they aren't aware of the range villain is repping and call based solely on their perceived hand strength, or they are calling because they think villain is bluffing and they have better than villain's bluffs.

Not sure how to even read your second question. If any player jams all in pre, then fold until you have an idea of what they're doing.

They call because they think there good they don't care or they have already invested too much to fold out second because the short stack probably tilted or just doesn't care or understand poker concepts
