I recently posted a question on playing small pocket pairs:
https://www.cardschat.com/forum/learning-poker-57/playing-small-pocket-pairs-344293/

I typically limped small pocket pairs regardless of position and action before me. From the feedback received I plan on raising small pocket pairs if folded to me and c-betting on the flop to balance out my range as well as capitalize on the fold equity.

Now, the question to you all is whenever you make tweaks to your strategy do you just go and try it right away at the stakes you play? Or do you actually test it out before e.g. applying it at lower stakes, home games before incorporating it?

As someone who doesn't have a proper bankroll I'm hesitant to try out new strategies right away and get stuck in no man's land.

I just go for it and try it right away at those stakes that I'm currently playing. Why bother to test it at smaller stakes because that same strategy might not work in both because the players and game are slightly different on every level. That's why I always try to adjust my strategy to those stakes that I'm currently playing. Having a proper bankroll management helps a lot so I suggest that you pay attention to that as well ;)

I think that it makes no sense to go down to the limit below, to work out new elements in the game. The main thing to remember what changes you make. For example small pairs. If your strategy is bad, but it's still not immediately lose.
