Trapping vs Leading out
You've hit the flop big, for the sake of this extreme example lets say you flop a Straight which is also a flush draw, and a stfl draw. Lets say there are also 2 face cards, which put the flop into almost anyone's range.
You are first to act. Do you see this as a trapping opportunity and thus check, or do you just lead out?
Historically, I would see this as a trapping opportunity. But recently, at micro stakes, I have tried the leading out approach. Over the years I have read that the 'prescribed' thing to do is to lead out. I am still torn as to whether I lose value by leading out.
In a trapping situation, your opponent will possibly try to steal, or maybe he even hit TPTK or some such and when I check he will bet. Of course I call, with the intention of letting him hang himself.
