most? Probably some mixture of both. If you are looking for best profitability it is probably the regular tables because of less variance. Even good players only cash out of a tourney probably about 20% of the time.

If you are learning, I suggest pick one and sticking to it unntil you get the basics down. Crossing between the two when you don't quite know what you are doing tends to addle you a bit because they play quite different

I'm confused as to what you mean by pros playing tournaments and "regular" tables.

I can only think you mean regular tables as in cash game tables. If that is the case then it really does depend because a pro player in general is a specialist in either the cash or tournaments online and tend to just stick to one format.

If you're starting out though, I certainly do recommend playing the smallest stake SNG MTT's or micro MTT's.

The pros play, most of them, plays big tournaments.

They also play a lot of sats to enter in big tournaments in order to does not spend the total Money to enter in some tournaments; they also play sats to big live tournaments events.

Pros are playing both for sure! But I think they are playing more hands at cash tables and also more money!

It all depends on the pro's personal playing style and what they are better at. Cash games have much less variance than tourneys however so you'll need a lot of buyins to safely play big tourneys.

There are plenty of pros that play both tournaments and cash games. There are also plenty of pros that play just tournaments or just cash games. I am one of the latter.

Watching how much time and patience.
If time is about one hour is better to sit and go.
If more then a big tournament.
But it is better to alternate

Fullflush and Betonline are nice for starting a bankroll off freerolls because they have sngs that go as low as 5 cents. Blackchip/ACR are other US sites that have freerolls on demand.

I personally like tournaments because I couldn't stand the thought of losing so much money on a single hand (in a cash table).

Big online players plays several tournaments at the same time , and they are tournements of $ 10 or more, they will gain necessarily one that will bring more money he lost in others, ...i knew someone who plays that way, personally i don't play tournements more that 2$, its too much money :)

I like the tournament with great value.. I played on bovada this morning with the last of my roll tied up in a cash game, and a tournament.. was doing well and in the span of 15 minutes I went bust on both.. The tournament pissed me off more, cause I had a hand for the chip lead ak, v aq and guy flops trip queens to put me out.. he was horrible and wound up winning.. Time to regroup.. but I like the tournaments or sit and go's better than cash games..

I believe the few greats in the game of poker, our Doyle Brunsons, Phil Iveys, Daniel Negreanus, and Phil Hellmuths, are proficient in both cash games and tournament games. Maybe this is an indication that to be truly great at the game, you should play well in both?

I personally play more tournaments than cash games.

THere is also the big win. 7 hours of play can get you 1000 is really hard to grind out 1000 dollars unless your playing high stakes in ring.

The swings in ring at high levels can be epic lol and you can lose rolls of cash very quickly.

Case in point 3 events this morning lost for chip lead position all of them with qq against qq and aa lmao

kk against aa lmao

and aa against jj when hit a set. So I lost freerolls and 1.10 cents which can live with and have now walked away for hour and half waiting on noon freerolls cause not about to throw any money away when yep getting great hands last two days but getting set into big hands and beats:)

Now if had played last two days in ring with a stack? 2-4 for 1000 bankroll?

I would be down about 6k lmfao I figure.

That is HELLISHLY ROUGH.

I played hmmm 8 months really high stakes mostly with named professionals think largest lost in day was 265. That was mostly clonie gowen annie duke hell mouth etc... picked tables pros sat at etc.. I recouped the days lost in ring by playing 10 or so mtt's lol

cause I know when to walk away and when to run imho haha.

Yet was making 5-6k a month during that time playing mtts and basically grinding even. No huge wins at ring etc.. just daily 40 to few hundred dollar wins.

I was hott at that time and had some big months honestly mostly on tilt some on stars and ultimate bet.

So even though am excellent playing imho at omaha limit ring nl etc.. I prefer the mtt's cause of the big cashes.

I really dont care how good you are if you want to keep moving up the mtt's is way to do it and gives you the real money.

Is why 8000 people play wsop lol. More players more money more bankroll for your roi.

Now just free advice choose your tourneys correctly get overpay when can:) free extra money and choose the easier times:)

Meaning smaller fields. Is easier to win at midnight than 8pm is just a fact. Is less people smaller buy ins and smaller roi but easier once you play a few times and learn the regs etc...
