It happened a long time ago, but ive been thinking about it alot ever since it happened. I was in a tourny 20 people left im in like 5th place, 18 get paid. The small stack in the tourney is at my table and acts before me and goes all in for 300 chips. I call with pocket 3s i was the small blind. I had around 5000 chips at the start of the hand. The big blind is the only one at the table with more chips. The blinds were like 50/100 he called. This made me nervouse. The flop came up, 3,6,X all of different suites. I raise pot. The big stack calls! I was worried. So when the 10 of something came up i unconfidently bet half pot and the big stack raised me all in leaving him left with only like 300 chips i called and lost to 3 of a kind 6s. Sorry for the lack of information, but do you think i did anything wrong? is there anything i should have done differently?

set over set and he never showed strength its hard to put him on that hand and he most likely would have doen the same thing with over pair and maybe even top pair.

The only thing you might have done wrong is to not check to him to see his hand strength. It's pretty hard to predict he completed his set too. If you had the 6's and he had the 3's things probably would have gone the exact same except you would have won. Tough break man.

If you don't go broke there your doing it wrong.

Don't worry about it, you made the correct play.

I don't think so, the other guy just got lucky. No way to know he had a higher set that took higher trips so don't worry bout it. Just one of those gross hands that happen to me all the time.

Idk josofo, if I hit trips and someone bets into me I call after the turn, let them keep betting into me. If someone checks into me I have to bet to get some money in the pot. I usually slow play good hands though, so I guess I just relate to that style better.

i would go broke with a set every time in that spot unless there were 4 to a straight or flush on board. it's a cooler.

it is bottom set and with no draws out there you should consider at least the fact that he might have a set too... as painful as that is.depending on how the guy has been playing up till then--don't know how long you played with him----you should be able to tell if he would make that move with only top pair ..or maybe two pair.(and with that board it would seem unlikely)....but i think ,not knowing more about he plays,it would be hard to get out of that one
