Total Donkament Strategy

Sometime there are promos for tournaments that are not really worth playing at a normal pace. I'm obviously not talking about CardsChat's freerolls but about those large field tourneys that I don't really have time to play.

I usually shove any2 on the first hand. If I win then I sitout and do something else until the other players get bigger stacks. I come back and shove again, if I win then I play my game maybe a bit more lag than usual.

I don't know if it is a good strategy but it works sometimes. I'd like to know how you play those donkaments.

I am trying to bluff first few hands and show them.
Then you can get some advantage of when they are thinking that you're bluffing again, take their chips with monster hand.

if i notice a lot of players sitting out, then i'll literally play any 2 cards everytime. otherwise, i'm playing a lot looser than i normally would in the beginning with the goal to double or triple up. once i do, i play my normal game and let the donks bet for me.

It's work on Freeroll only, you can go all in with any Ace, any pair or any suited xD

I usually play at the end of the tournament and not at the beginning.

Well, you might miss a hand that might double you up if you sit out.

Every hand is crucial I suppose.

I don't think Iv'e ever pushed allin on the first hand, but have called them. I have noticed in freerolls that fairly often if you raise pre flop, get a call or a push you end up loosing with the best hand pre flop. If on the other hand you simply limp with a premium hand and someone pushes and you call, you the caller come off best 70% of the time.
Also noticed that very often you get 2 winning hands in a row so it's worth raising the second time. I find this tactic often works.
Then like you, simply sit back for a while playing only position and premium hands gaining what little table respect you can on a freeroll.

How does that work must be your luck I guess. I have tried slow playing aces only to have very few people call and fold on the flop. Yes about gaining 2 winning hands consecutively I agree because I have done it and it totally works because some players might think you are loose and call with hands like Ax, K7 etc.

Just try this in freerools, but not in any real money SNG or MTT, esp. Sunday Millions, etc.

Good luck getting people to fold so that you can even show them a bluff in these large donkfest freerolls. Fold equity is pretty much zero in these in the early stages.

I think some are missing the point that I don't really have the time to play the tourney. I shove first hand then if I win I go to the grocery store.

When I come back I shove again. If I win then I play normal after that.

You have to gamble just to be on the money since price placement is so deep.

Just treat it like any other tournament. Be serious and play well to increase your chances of winning.

there's a halfway point where half of the players remain and the average stack is close to 2x of starting stack. This is when to open up your game.

I say wait for premium hands, an mid pairs an play them aggressive an dont try to bluff if you miss because almost always you'll get a caller an dont shove with a premium hand unless your forced an the action is heads-up or three way. Sometimes i make the call with more people if my stack is deep enough to take a hit without hurting me to much. I've only been playing poker half a year and online poker for bout 2 months and have made 18 fts so far won 2. Freerolls an low stakes still attempting to build my bankroll but this has worked for me. Also once the donks are weeded out you can tell then its time to play your game. Almost forgot i also limp with connector cards if they let me for cheap busted a lot of people this way that dont kno how to let go of top pair

Usually sit out the beginning, unless most the table is sitting out, then I'll play any hand till the end of the hour then sit out for the all in frenzy that follows
