Try at first to know the game. Study the basics, learn the math and reasoning behind each action.
When playing/viewing hands, always try to count the outs in the different stages of the hands. When that succeeds without a problem, try to compare the outs towards the bets you make/raises you have to call.
Tldr. Learn in steps ☺

re: Poker & Tips
I'd start with the practical side of the game before the theoretical. A lot of beginning players try to play "fancy" too much and get themselves into trouble. Learn about position, odds, calculating your outs vs. what the pot is laying you, etc. Also, learn some good etiquette too. Never, EVER scare away bad players. They are our source of income

Kent, be very careful with your first steps. These steps could influence your play deeply. Some wrong steps here could cause a lot of trouble in the future.
