re: Poker & Tip For A Beginner
One thing I see beginners do a lot is fold when they've got a lot in the pot and a small stack on the flop or the turn.
For instance, pot is 5 way and has $100 in it, short stack has 20 left, they'll fold second pair here.
With your implied odds
, you can expect an all-in of $20 more to get called four times, or raised by somebody. Both = good.
You have five outs to improve, and two streets to get them, 20% chance to get two pair or trips.
Hell, you don't even need implied odds, you are getting - man I've been sucking with names today... the actual pot odds
to put your chips in. Direct pot odds? Hrm. I forgot Uma Thurman's name today too.
Anyway, that's a big mistake.
