New player (<2000 hands online) but am already using pokertracker (trial) and have read a few books. Already noticing major leaks but I’m comfortable making mistakes and improving.

I’m playing 2NL on pokerstars. I lost 4 BI’s today after being up over the last week while playing at night (living in canada so from 8pm EST onwards).

Today I got crushed by aggressive eastern Europeans and many Russians. I’m guessing a lot of the players playing during my daytime – 9am EST to 3pm EST – are regular grinders and are actually making a living off of this.

So if I play at night my time the chance of profit should be higher but I’m playing weaker opposition (like myself really). If I play during the day I’ll be in the deep end but maybe playing better opposition will improve my skills quicker…?

Thoughts?

I agree... you correctly noticed...
I live in Russia and it is easier for me to play from 5.00 to 12.00 am Eastern time.. Because many aggressors are sleeping)))

Do not like to think this way, although there schedules with excellent flow, like to think of being better and better to catch any opponent, because they want to be champion, you can not choose opponents. GL!

It doesn’t matter who u are facing, and at what time you will play, because u will always be playing against random people you don t know anything about them, and if you want to learn and become better and get to the level of the pros, u must play against strong players . So I wish you good luck

I believe you should play wherever your win-rate is highest. If that is later in the evening then yes play then. As for when people play online. I don't think there is a standard, but I use a similar philosophy for the live games I play. When I play at the casino it will be from midnight till 6:00 a.m. because I am usually getting the drunks and tourists, which is who I want to play against. Good luck.

You could be right about certain time of the day where regs play, but at 2NL I don't think there are any regs(atleast I hope so, they should be playing higher stakes), probably just maniacs raising with any two cards.

That's really intresting to think about.
I also think that the 'weakest' players will be online at night.

Learn how to play against any type of player. At nl2 i can't see balance, so play TAG and look at your HUD to exploit.

Personally if you want to improve, I would not waste my time seeking an easy advantage of playing weaker players. Wait until you are well established in poker before starting to seek weaker opponents.

You are absolutely right when playing at the table with the inhabitants of Eastern Europe you should always understand that the level of their game will often be higher than yours as a novice player and in whatever time you come for the tables they will be there and they make it a living , but for the most part they are only interested in those players who do not work on their game, too often go to the banks for a lottery and lose a lot of money. And if you analyze your game with the help of statistics programs, over time your game will get better and will bring positive results There are now a lot of available information for beginners. Well, and of course you have to stick to the management bankroll and for the game caches have at least 30 entries of your limit.
