Hey guys, I'm a student trying to make some money. I consider myself as a reasonable poker player since I've make some good moves and get hyped a lot , but in the outcome when I get a minor loose I use to tilt an throw it all away in multiple games. I've read some threads about tilting and how you should manage your bankroll.

The situation is, I've played poker sometimes in my youth, now that pokerstars is available in my country I decided since christmas try to invest on some money of mine.

The further I got was making about 40€ of revenue and, I threw it away for several times. At this moment I deposited like 200€ and some , and I'm always hitting the bankruptcy (I'm like -200€ since I started playing on December). I feel very tilted because when I go in a winstreak I really play fine, I just quadruplicated yesterday my investment yesterday and wen't to 0 after a long hour session play. The question I have to ask you is if I should keep trying and try stopping when I win, or if I'm just having a bad beat time , if that is normal through players wich profit and finallly if I should stop playing poker at all.

Thank you for your time and advice,

GL for you all.

Hi youthmp and welcome to Cardschat. You have only been playing online poker since Dec?

You deposited $200 how many times? What stakes are you playing at?

Tilt is a poker player killer. I don't care how you do it, but tilt has to go. But how much of your tilt are you causing by the way you are playing? Never tilt so bad after losing a big hand that you throw the rest of your money into the pot with the attitude of you could care less. To get rid of most of your tilt (it will always be there) you will have to think about it all the time you are playing. Remind your self that you are working to overcome it, and when you take a beat, or make a dumb ass move, make yourself stay calm. Think about this. No matter what happens in a hand, you can't play it over, so there is not a damn thing you can do about it. Just go on to the next hand. What I'm telling you here is what I had to do. And it worked and it will work for you. Also, try talking to yourself through every hand. Not any negative talk, but be positive with yourself.

Now youthmp, you need to start asking a lot of question, and take the advice you receive to the tables and use it. It works because it's coming from the experience of players that have many years of play under their belt. Let us know what's going on and don't stop asking the questions.

youthmp you really have to believe this. Poker can't be learned fast. It takes time and a lot of it. It's just like climbing a ladder, one level at a time. You have to learn one piece at a time. Focus on it and nothing else until you have a good understanding of that piece. Then move on to something else. I would suggest to work the hardest on your tilt problem, and find out what Bankroll Management is, how to use it, and why it's so important

This is a have to if you don't want to continue losing all your money. Just deposit $50 and start at 2nl or 5nl cash games, and $1.10 or $2.20 buy ins for the MTTs. Playing is learning and playing at low levels keeps you from tilting much because your losses will be small. You may think 2nl is a waste of your time. But you will win some and it can be fun. That will build your confidence, your patience, and your determation to beat 2nl and move up to 5nl.

Well that's enough from me. You will get other replies soon. REMEMBER DON'T PLAY AT A LEVEL YOU ARE NOT READY FOR. Those players can pick you out as a new player from a mile away. And they will use it against you.

Oh think about setting you some goals that you can reach, and a long term goal that can also be reached with time, advice, and play time. GET SERIOUS ABOUT LEARNING OR QUITE PLAYING

s struggle with tilt Out of the game - the ability to leave the game on time - this is the key to ensure that does not fall into the tilt. Take a break in the game. Relax as much as you need. Day, week, month. Plenty. Just do not take part in the next few hands. The ability to time out of the game allows you to take a wider view on poker. Proper bankroll management - the game is able to tilt a very strong influence on your bankroll management. You can spend ten hours or ten thousand hours at the poker table, "skolachivaya» bankroll, but if you fall into the tilt, all your money will disappear. The key point - do not play at limits that will destroy your bankroll. D.O.T. - The three elements of poker strategies that differentiate a really strong player from the average. * Discipline. The ability to restrain emotions, play according to the bankroll and fully concentrate on the game. * Waiting. Be prepared for the fact that the opponent will do - it's good, but it is much more important to anticipate what do you do. * Patience. If you are a patient at the poker table, the good cards MUST come. Once a player learns to avoid tilt, he will receive an advantage over opponents. Not just to know that at this moment you are playing in a state of tilt, you need to learn how to avoid tilt in 100% of cases. Everything depends on you.

Firstly, thank you a lot for your feedback, I understood what you said about the tilting problem. In my 200€ investment since december, I deposited like ~10€ on each time, and yes is my very first time playing real money poker online, I had not much of experience before. As far as the tablesz I've been playing a little bit of everything, 5-10€ Heads-up , 4€Super KO tour 6-max, wich revealed profitable but when I tilted I got into a 15€ superko table and that situation happened, more experienced players kicked my butt.. also I've tried some Bounty Builders and stuff. I will take your advice and try to keep learning, I really enjoy the game and want to get some skill, and I know that I've been into it for a few time, I need more experience.

Thanks a lot.

Also thank you for your advice I will take in mind. But sometimes when you reach the best bankroll you ever had is harsh to start loosing here and there, in stupid tables lol. I had like a 7h straight session wich I benefited 4x what I invested yesterday, but at the end I thought "well , I'm tired, but let's try do some more " and that's when the problems begun.

Again , thank you for your kind advice I appreciate it ! ;)
