How do you overcome the tilt state and what helps you to save balanced way of thinking? Are you able to stop the game after a series of catastrophic failures, or will you continue to play until fortune turns to you?

First, get up from the poker table (or computer) and take a walk or go to the bathroom to cool off. Don't use your break to call someone to discuss a bad beat – this will further tilt you, not calm you down. Don't try to chat with your opponent and open the door for defensive comments that may fuel an argument.

Here's what I do...

I know exactly what your talking about. Here's what i've come up with:
- Take a 3 to 4 hand break
- For me if I can, just walk around wherever you (within my Den) are for 5 minutes.

Online, I minimize the pokerstars window and watch a 5-10 minute YouTube-video to distract myself.

Tilt control

Hate when you tilt, had to cool down go out and back to the game, best strategy, whole new game.

Whenever I take a bad beat, I think "where did I go wrong?" Without leaving the table I do this quiet analysis without hearing anyone. I buzzed my headphones and I think. "Mathematically my action was right or wrong?" After about 5 minutes looking at my cards, I come back, relax and think that there is still a game.

I try to relax after a bad beat and cool down, if that doesn't work I try to put cold water on my face.

Early on when I first started playing poker online I used to tilt a lot. I guess I was easily frustrated. Then while on tilt, I'd chase my losses with almost non-stop playing until I used up my deposit or couldn't hold off sleep any longer. Now I practice the philosophy of "just let it go." For someone to win at poker someone else has to lose and sometimes it's just not your day. Accept that. Take a break for a few hours or days, and come back and take another swing at it.

As soon as I understand that I have tilt, I immediately stop the session.

I quit after 3 losses in a row, take a break then maybe come back.
A lot of people actually plays better when they get tilted as they wanna prove themselves and therefore increase their focus. While many others just let their emotions cloud their mind and naturally plays worse and might insult others.

Take a break for 1-2 hours, or don't play on a bad day.
Further injury will cause in you only a negative aggression.
You'll lose money and game pieces.
Calm yourself with a walk in the fresh air, but most importantly do not drink alcohol.

When I am tilting, I just fold my cards. I find that this strategy really helps me. It's really hard when your holding K,K... but just fold anyways.

I think Freeroll therapy is helping me to manage tilting. I recently started to use freerolls to make some $ at a new site to start a bankroll. You have no choice but to learn to accept bad beats in freerolls because they happen so frequently. Playing at my regular site I later realized I don't get as upset as I used to get in tilting situations and I'm sure it's because of getting used to bad beats from freerolling.

Also, studying hands and odds help me to realize the other play was lucky and there is no need to stay angry.

I think everyone has to deal personally with this problem , he has to be strict and take some decisions so as to be able to control himself from this catastrophic for the bankroll tilt moments or hours .

I impose some rules to myself , playing with only one or two buyins on cash games (because in the past I hadsome bad experiences ) and I check how many sngs or tournaments I will play , that depends on my mood , my results , my will . If I have broken some rules , I just don't play for a period of time , might be a day or more , it depends on how serious my tilt situation was .

I think I go very well , although the effect/result is I don't play so much . Sometimes I have my tilt moments , but tilt doesn't last for long and doesn't damage my bankroll , most important it doesn't make me feel bad because I deal with it effectively :)

It is very complicated to be able to dominate that and many times it gains the anger and it can not be surpassed and we end up going all the hands hoping that the luck helps us and makes us recover the chips. I think that if we manage to remain calm in the hand following the loss, we will have great chances to move forward and get good prizes

This is a problem with virtually every game, not just poker. It's why people throw their playstation through their tv screen. The simple solution is to take a multi day or week break. Remember, this is meant to be fun

When I tilt I used to go all in with bad hands and keep betting when I knew I was behind purely out of frustration. It's so counter productive like.

Your best bet is just walking away and calming down a bit.
