So there is no doubt that right my my number one biggest leak is tilt. After something goes wrong or there is a lack of action going on I basically cannot handle it emotionally and it completely effects my decision making. I don't know where to start can someone please put up some good links to read or watch or offer some introductory advice??

I agree with jerohit 100% - especially the mountain beaches part, but that's pretty difficult where I live. You know that you're going to lose big when you're playing on tilt. So don't play. Do something/anything else till you've relaxed/calmed down. Then go back with a clear mind and a fresh new perspective.

First of all, learn about patience. It's normal that there are periods of little or no action at a table, so you'll have to get used to it (be happy, when playing live, it's even worse due to less hands played, and not being able to multitable :))...
Also try to change your point of view on the hands played. If you lose the hand due to bad luck (villain got lucky), try to keep in mind that the decision you made still was +EV, and overall you made the right decision of playing the hand). If you lose the hand due to -EV decisions, try to approach it rationally, mathematically, and see where you went wrong, and what you should do next time. If that doesn't work, go get a breath of fresh air, as said above :)

Nice to meet you.
I think you are so clever. Because you know yourself and explain it. Many players is not notice own weakness. And only talking and thinking and only satisfied. (Excluding enjoy players(=me))
Are you remember, when you got a big pod by lucky turn and river?
(Please thinking opponents situation.)
Why not forget your bad beats? (Please imaging how are you seen.)
Human is not a robot, Tilt is happen and tilt is generated from now on.
Was the choice before making a tilt is best? I think your decision was not wrong.
Learn about patience is very important! Because, if you have patience ,not lost many times and not making unnecessary thoughts. You are pragmatic about everything If you are not stopping play poker and being tilt,
make a rules and doing when you are tilt.
(Lets start preparing a rule ,when tilt is coming)
The method that money does not depend on is good if possible.)

Turn off your PC switch, throw mobile and it away and start running and
there is it in various ways elsewhere) It is not kidding you, it is important to have a different viewpoint and though. You should imitate somebody, Easily known but not so easy.
Which do you choose, pleasure(continue to playing poker and lost more money.=thinking nothing, or endure it a little(keep mind and not lost money) and waiting next chances.
You photograph a state when you made a tilt in an animation and may be effective that you review it every day.
You may notice something. What is the purpose playing poker?

I am sorry that I meddle and in poor English.

Just the fact that you realize you have a problem is a huge step.

Now the next thing is figure out how you can relax after losing a hand/ tournament. Different things work for different people. Just walking away from the table or computer for a couple minutes helps me.

Something Jason Somerville said helped me a ton. He was talking about tournaments and how you are probably going to bust out of 75% of tournaments you enter. Do you really want to be in a bad mood 75% of the time you are playing poker? Losing is part of the game and if you can accept that you can become a better player. :D

I'm an expert on TILT. I know there are a few that still remember how screwed up I was when I got started. Well some good guys/gals here helped me more than I could ever expect. I could do some good bitching. Hell they all had the answers and I want them too. But the way I was, I could never really learn something, remember it, and use it. The fact is, I was mad at the whole damn world, because they were the cause of my losses. And every beat of any kind hung on me for weeks. And back then I could remember every one of those hands, so I was just going a long getting madder and madder until I probably would have broken something I need everyday. So the no tilt schooling took 6 long months before I even thought of any thing else. You will have to do the same. Start with a good look at yourself and what all is going on. But there is one real important thing you can do all the time. Try telling yourself what a good person you are. Try saying a few times in a row that "I can do this" "I'm a winner just been having a little down swing, it will get better. Tell yourself that you are going to win $5 today, and get in there and do your best. I still talk to myself playing cards, and poker is fun these days. GL

I'm a newbie, so I don't know if I qualify for TILT MASTER. I don't quite know all about it yet. Been doing some freeroll at pokerstars. I made it a couple times late finishing 400-500. Patience seems to creep in & goes out the door. I'm trying to think it is good tourney & hang in there instead of looking at the guy with massive chips going green :D envy wanting to double up. Specially after 2 hours. Close to 3 hours seems the time it huts me. Just have to keep practicing on hanging for long time. :)

The best advice I can think of is to walk away. if it is a cash game, and you still have chips, sit out 2 orbits to get your head straight. If it is a tournament, you have to just let it go, because it is going to happen more often than we like. A seasoned player once advised me to let emotions go, and become a robot. Unless you can play with no emotion, you are always subject to taking beats badly and making bad decisions. Treat wins and losses the same way and you are on your way. Trust me, easy to say, hard to do, but it does work.

Thanks for all the initial advice guys. I definately hear the idea of walking a way to tae a break, clear the mind come back with a new perspective. And I think you have to have the whole EV approach. I think I'm going to look into mindfulness and meditation a bit to learn to live in the moment and stay calm.

What I found helps me with tilt is just to simply distract myself. It could be something as simple as just putting on a funny video on youtube or looking at funny pictures on reddit. If you're playing live, then just get up take a walk, get a drink, have a smoke. Just remove yourself from the situation to clear your mind and then come back full force :D

Maybe should take a break and analyse your game to improve it.. less reasons to tilt in future.
