YOU CAN TRY MANIAC STYLE POKER AGGRO OR WHATEVER YOU WANNA CALL IT BUT IN THE END ISN'T SUPER TIGHT GENERALLY ALWAYS RIGHT IN TOURNEYS,ASH GAMES AND MOST LIMIT AND NL FORMATS? I HAVE A VIDEO GAME CALLED wsop 2008 PC I HAVE TRIED ALL DIFFERENT TYPES OF PLAY AND IN THE END SUPER TIGHT IS ALWAYS RIGHT WITH AGGRESSION ON THE BUTTON WITH A MILD OPEN UP RANGE.

WITH LIVE PLAY OR AGAINST REAL PEOPLE THEY COULD BE CLUELESS THAT YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED 15 hands AND ARE ALL OF THE SUDDEN BETTING INTO THEM WITH AA AND WITH NEW PLAYERS IN THE GAME ALL THE TIME WHY NOT PLAY LIKE HELMUTH?

It is a good base strategy to fall back on but it is not correct to always play this way. Yes you can get by playing like a rock in most games but you have to be inhuman to do this all the time. You will wait hours in live play for the right hand and boom! sucked out on!! That is what causes these players to tilt(the I hate AA guys). The problem is you can't possibly keep this up. Waiting so long for a great hand then losing with it will kill you and there are observant players that will be waiting to stack you with 56 suited etc..The game and the situation will dictate what you should be doing. Run the table over in tournaments sometimes when you have a big stack and a good image. You can really improve your chances to win that way. If you lose a few hands default to tight and repeat...

Depends on game format but generally doing anything in this game consistently will get exploited by the better players at the table.

at the beginning is a good strategy to be tight ... in other situations it is necessary to venture to evolve

When I mean tight I say 99 and up all pp 10-j to ak suited and of course on the button 8-10 off and 5-6 suited Im not saying only play top 10 hands

uh, you could probably tighten up then - that is if you are wanting to be tight.

But the answer is NO - tight is NOT always right. You have to adjust to your opponents. If everyone else is tight then you want to loosen up and take advantage of that. For example you are sitting on the button or cutoff and it is folded to you with T3o (or something equally awful). Being tight, you are going to fold just about always, UNLESS the SB and BB are also very tight. You can throw a raise out (being pretty loose and aggressive) and steal those blinds. Or you can fold and watch the BB rake them in cause everyone else (being tight and right) has folded. This is especially true in late stages of tournaments.

I would say go with a tight and aggressive play style. There are some players who have success using a more loose and aggressive style but for many a tight and aggressive style strategy will show more profit .. Tight and aggressive style of play is also the best way for beginners to start out as it teaches patience and discipline.

tight in tournaments? pretty hard when every table is shoving preflop

calling all-in with AK suited preflop isnt really playing tight or thats what I thought anyway
