Raise raise raise with gut shot and then they catch on the river. How do I keep from falling into this trap?

If you believe they are still drawing while betting or raising at that point say on the flop, then punish them by giving unfavorable pot odds.

just extract the most value you can, bet big and shut down there odds to draw. That way the majority of times they miss and you pick up a big pot will significantly outweigh the times they hit there gutshot.

I play .05/.10 ring and 2.20 mtts and sitngos. Yesterday I had nut strt on the flop and got reriased all in by aajj what do you know j on river. I'm just in a downswing I guess. I'm not sure I like Mike Cairo he's seemed a little goofy when I watched him play, like one of those that raise w 46 from early position pre flop. If I'm wrong?

Tighten up as much as you can and then exploit (value bet) the hell out of your monster hands. Set traps, etc.

Post some hands if you want ;)

Raise raise raise with gut shot and then they catch on the river. How do I keep from falling into this trap?

First you must establish if they are likely to gamble all their chips on a draw.
in most cases if someone is raising aggressively on a draw its never a good idea to re-raise...
without strength or wanting a flip...
Instead floating is a better option assess the action on the turn and river,

If you believe they are drawing and you float the second barrel with lets say top pair, it's dependent on the river card as too whether you call/check/fold/bet.

This is a prime example of why position is so important, when you hold position on villain you can dictate drawing hands by just floating... if someone overbets the flop or the turn... usually they are scared of the draw and have top pair or some kind of made hand,
They often shut down when weak on the river after they have been double floated,
It's unlikely for a player to triple barrel without strength knowing most likely you hold a strong hand by the river...

Always acknowledge the board and possible hands.. because some players will think and some players may put you on a draw or Ace high if your just floating and make that 3rd barrel bluff/semi bluff

But there are players who are on a big bet not kicked fold, and will be until the last call with a draw hand, what to do then?:pepsi:

Accept it. They paid for it. All you can do is  and hope they pay to chase and miss against you next time. Also, if you're calling on the river, don't call when a straight/flush hits if you think they have it. I mean, are they really hiding their hands that well or might you be missing some information?

I would play more tight and wait for the hand to be(a)t them down.

It is a bit like bullies I wait watch and hit.

I like your post a lot of good points to think about. I do have a problem not calling on the river when I know they hit the draw, but when were already all in its just something I have to stomach. What pot odds should I look for when I have something like top two pair and the possible strt draw hit. I look at all the possible hands they might have to the one they do have is that a good way or should I just say something like 3 to 1.

There are charts out there you can download or print of odds and outs of all different draws ,possibly one thing to remember is that your opponent may not know the pot odds or is even thinking about them .Variance can be a bitch so try not to let it tilt you......scorp
