If you want to excel in poker, one of the most important skills you should learn is the ability to read your opponents. When you see that a player always plays a hand in a certain way, or if you think you can determine when it is a bluff, it is vital to keep that information. You never know when it might be useful to win a big pot in the future.
Player Tags
The best way to do this is to use the player's notes feature available on pokerstars. To access it, just double click on the specific player; The notes tab will appear in the space that usually occupy the chat box. From here you can assign a color label to the player, or write specific notes. Tags can be useful for quickly identifying which type of player you are facing. Sometimes it's worth creating a couple of categories, such as good player, bad player, aggressive, conservative, calling station, etc., and then assign a color label to each of these types of player. Once this is done, you will know right away what kind of player you have in front of you and you will be able to act accordingly.
Take Effective Notes
Taking notes takes a little longer, but it can also be more beneficial. Try not to waste time and write down only aspects that are really useful at the table. Do not take notes like "Very annoying player. Always lucky!" Records things like "likes to limp with big couples from the top positions". The first note is a mere relief, while the second one can help you directly to make money.
