Table Etiquette & Patience

I just thought this might be a good subject to open up to help any one new to poker, or to read other opinions about what constitutes good table etiquette, and also roll in the idea of how important patience is when playing.

I hear from a lot of people "I'm just so unlucky" and I completely understand this. But playing too many hands efects table image and how often you are gonna get chased down all the way to the river, etc.

Anyone want to chip in their thoughts about patience and good [poker] table manners?

I agree with you as far as table image, but at lower stakes you could sit out for an hour and wouldn't make much difference , always seems someone is calling with a draw and shoving with bottome pair...basically if your good hand doesnt hold up regardless table image seems variance shows its face far to often..I think this could be due in part of more and more players are making bad calls...some get lucky some dont...but with more players making bad calls it is obvious the number of suckouts is going to be harder and when it happens to you , those are the ones we remember the most.

in lower limits sng and tourneys
patience is a must.
make notes of loose players and value bet
them to death when you have the goods.
but,
dont get blinded out.
when your stack starts to shrink (10 to 15BB)
and the blinds get big,
its time to gamble.

table manners are down to the individual,
some people just ain't got any.

Patience is absolutely a virtue for poker players.

As far as etiquette and manners go though, I'm not 100% sure how you're linking the two? Obviously it's nice to have both, but it's very possible to be a patient player with no manners, and vice versa.
