T$ can only be used to buy-in to tournaments of any type (SNG, MTT, satellite, etc). Or you can convert them (I think at a 5% fee) to cash. You cannot use T$ at ring games.

Yes, it's a 5% "commission" that they charge you to convert from $T to real $.

Also, to OP, typically the way you get $T is to play some kind of a satellite or super satellite where your prize is a seat to a larger tourney or something. If you can't play that next tourney, then you can unregister and collect the entry fee. However the entry fee you collect will be put in your cashier as $T since you won an entry in the previous satellite, not cash.

The 'T' dollars can be kept at anytime,.. not just if you 'can't play that tourney'. There's a large handful of regulars in alot of the satellites on Fulltilt, who mostly play satellites but do not play any of the tourneys they've satellited into. You just 'unregister' and the 'T' dollars will show up in your account. If you win a satellite for a tourney you're already registered for,.. the 'T' dollars just automatically show up in your account.
As said above,.. .'T' dollars can only be used for SNGs, & MTTs,.. not cash tables. If you want to withdrawl your 'T' dollars, they need to be converted to regular cash in your account, at a rate of 5%.
