What is the best way to play suited connectors? And are they really that good of a starting hand, odds wise?

I tend to not play them unless I am in the blinds, or I can see a cheap flop.

Any advise would be great.

What kind of games are you playing? Sit and Gos? MTTs? FR Cash? 6-Max? It's going to differ in the different games and the current situation too.

Generally I will raise them from late position, sometimes I will call with them if I'm going to have position on the raiser. Generally I don't like to play them from the blinds because you're going to be out of position against a raise but of course in different situations you'll do different things. You're question is a little broad to give much of an answer.

I usually play Holdem freerolls with hundreds/thousands of players. Also, I just started to play in cash sit and goes. I don't know what MTTs is and I assume 6-Max is the table size...

Well in tournaments suited connectors aren't as great of hands as they are in cash games. Generally you want to play them if the stacks are deep, like in cash games players often have 100 big blinds in their stacks. In tournaments you'll find that a 30 big blind stack is pretty good.

So you can still play them in tournaments, raising them from the button is still a good idea to steal the blinds or take down the pot with a continuation bet. Also if it's early in the tournament when the blinds are small you can always try to see a cheap flop with them. Remember though that when you're playing these type of hands you're trying to hit a big hand, making one pair is not enough to put a lot of money in with, you're trying to make 2 pair at least or a very big draw.

Excellent advice.

If you're playing mostly freeroll/cheap tables there will be lots of limping and lots of opportunities to play them. Just keep in mind what Seany says about needing a big hand to commit to them.

In a limit cash game, I play them selectively. Only in late positions and only if there are at least 4 players. I will take the flop and take a look.

In cash games to see a flop with SC's you shouldnt play more the 5% of your stack preflop.

Thanks; I do play mostly freerolls, so I'll keep that in mind.
