Is it better to just get into the flop as cheap as possible to see if you connect? Or is it better to play like a mediocre Ax and try to push people off preflop?

Play from late position only and try to get in cheap.
If folded to you, open raise. This is for cash games.

It depends. In general, beginners and those who play like beginners would be better served to fold them pre-. That's because the decision as to what action to take pre- isn't just about a single round. It's also about what to do on subsequent rounds. Yes, getting in cheap and folding after missing the flop doesn't cost a huge amount. But that's not the only negative outcome. Fairly often, you'll catch some piece of the flop - just enough to face tough decisions. If your game hasn't advanced enough to handle those situations decently, your losses in them plus your small losses after missing will make playing SCs a losing proposition overall despite some infrequent big wins.

I vote for the first one.

You want to see the flop as cheap as possible.

In my opinion
early phase - cheap as possible/pass
middle - it's depends, early possition pass, middle and late check/raise
late - usually raise

sometimes open EP, because if opponents see what % u open from this poss, thay will almost often call only with strong hands, and if u OR from EP connectors S, u are making range not so easy to read

Yeah ... Get in as cheap as ya can.
Me personally. I will play them from any position when possible.
I mean like,
I will always min raise if Im the first to act.
But not go for them from a late position if there has been to much prior action.

Always try to be the aggressor pre flop as when you miss you can still win post flop also when you connect you may get people replying he hand you hold!
