I'm looking for ideas/tips for playing with suited aces. Especially the low ones like A9 and down. I usually call pre flop if there's been one raise or I raise 3xBB if there's limpers. Almost always fold if there's been a reraise. Am I missing out or is that the best tactic?

It looks like you are over valuing the hands
Its not usually a good idea to flat call a raise with a suited ace less than A9 unless the opener is really loose, Or you intend to float/bluff someone you know doesn't go to showdown without the nuts.
You will only flop a flush draw 1 in every 11 flops with suited cards, and then you still have to hit that last flush card to have a strong hand.
Multi handed is the usually the best time to flat them. You can raise limpers but make sure you add a bb for every limper so if there are two limpers in already then make it at least 5bb.
Against a single raiser, especially if they are in late position and you are in the blinds you are probably better to 3bet or fold them.

Figaroo2 hit the nail on the head. They are great hands if youre the big / small blind ... but i would never raise with them or call a big raise because you will most likely be up against A10, AJ, AQ, or AK ... even worse, 1010 JJ QQ KK or AA.

Every now and then they DO hit, and you can win a big pot ... but it happens so rarely it really isnt worth the gamble.

Thanks mate. That's really helpful. I'm definitely over valuing them. I've won some massive pots but I don't think I've counted how much they've cost me.

I act in such a situation a little softer. Before the flop call, if I go limp and did not raise, and if someone bet 2bb, not more, call. . If all fold and I'm on the late position bet 2bb. The flop a flush draw and get react made the call at a small raise from an opponent. For large raise on the turn and river do fold.

See a cheap flop if possible if hit flush or better then try to doubble up..
If there is a strong raise by tight player fold
If a raise is from loose player call see the flop play with loose player if got two pair

There is a series which will soon continue. It is aimed primarily at cash players but there is good info for MTT/SNG players too (raw equities).

the way i play

I normally don't play like A9. I try to play the top ten hands mostly. But there might be times I might try to limp in on a 5,7.

I agree with above. Generally, only play lower suited aces if in the blinds and it is cheap to play. Otherwise, they tend to cost you more than you can make...given the odds of flopping a flush are so low. If you are going to play low suited aces anywhere else besides the blinds, I would say you can go with a raise in an unopened pot from late position, but be careful not to get drawn into playing deep if you need runner runner to get to a decent hand.
