We all get them,,,i think for the novice/new player it`s something that knocks you out of a tournament, but for an more experienced player, you sustain the `hit` and move on like it didn`t happen,,,,you`ll get there, keep reading, watching, learning. Cheers! ;)

Happens all the time. Called a cold deck and/or variance. With internet poker it's called "getting their money back". It will happen no matter what.

That, my friend, is a little thing called variance and it will smack you in the face on a consistent basis if you play tournaments. Having to beat a large pool of players to reach the prize pool is much more swingy than playing cash games.

Bad

In ps this happens a lot, you have a supposed nuts until the weaker hand wins the pot, bad ones get tired and more and more makes us reflect on which hand we are on

Coping with Winner's Tilt

Winner's Tilt is when you start winning and it causes you to change your game thinking you can win with anything. It's as bad as regular tilt. But these swings will occur even in face-to-face games. I don't know why, but good and bad hands seem to come in waves. Probably just a perception thing though. Anyway, what you have to consider is how you are betting. If you have a good, but not great hand (say top pair) then you need to be aware that someone can easily outdraw that hand. Even two pair is easily outdrawable. So after catching a string of good hands you need to keep calm and be sure your betting remains realistic for the hands you get.

It's poker, it happens. Like someone said, you just have to learn to deal with it. Keep in mind, that sometimes YOU CAN'T and YOU'LL LOSE

Now.. what I'm concerned is about how often someone hits a set right on the river. I have a good sample, I just don't know how to analyze it faster.

I'm also curious how many times I got AA vs 22 (had a thread bout this). Just tonight I got about 13 x 22 and only 2 x AA and the trend seems to be holding throughout.

Again, if someone knows how to faster analyze hands and get stats on them, on-the-fly, please quote this message and let me know.

It happens all the time. Many times we have been winning with strong hands and playing good poker until suddenly a player plays a weak hand for the simple fact of trying luck and that's when we lose. We must continue to improve and avoid these players.

Happens a lot especially early in tournaments when they will call with anything.

Just think about the structure of the board, your position in the hand, the action till a certain spot, number of people in the hand (ok there are more but these should be enough).
If there are more people in the hand than you and just someone else and you have AA on a T 6 2 rainbow board and You get big action on the flop chances are someone is not messing around so you can find a fold.
If someone limped-called your raise pre, check-called your cbet and then on turn he starts betting big when a draw came in or something.. you can fold of you don't think You can beat most hands so have nuts or close to it..
Many situations where people can find folds and win money (yep win by folding this sounds weird) but they just call anyway when they had all the signs that they are beat.
Good luck

Been there done that. Many times. The most recent one in a tourney was when I got slammed when AA got beat by AJ. Then soon after that, I went all in QJos vs. KT. Villain made a K on the flop then I made runner runner flush.

Can't do anything about those. online poker is rigged to favor unlikely events happening so you are climbing uphill. Just try to keep putting yourself in +EV spots.

Yesterday weak hands beat around me all day. I put to the all-in with KK, AK, AQ, but I always lost and took off from the tournament at the pre-final stage. It's a shame. But that's part of poker. Nobody forced me to go with these cards in the all-in. I made this decision myself, I myself took the risk and lost.

Happened to me lots of times, but thats how the game goes.

Even if you have the strongest of hands there is always the luck factor that can give the weakest hand the win, and not even the best poker players in the world can avoid that.

The feeling is terrible. It's one of the reasons I tilt. It busted me out of a few freeroll tournaments.

I have had that happen many times. Recently, I had pocket queens vs AQ, the end result was AQ turned into a full house. Always at the bad end of it.
