I've heard of people completely changing their lives based on a single realization. I wonder if anyone has experienced this in poker.

Is there one thing you did wrong that kept you from being consistent and once you realized what it was you stopped doing that thing and suddenly experienced rampant success?

Or, if not in poker how about in life in general? Have there been any truly life changing moments? Realizations which you knew would change your life (for the better) forever!

Hehe, you probably knew that I would be your first customer.

Not to be trite or cliche... there have been so so so so so many for me... on and off the tables... I wouldn't even know where to begin. I actually just wrote about one a few moments ago in Barb's team thread, maybe a part of me knew that you were asking this question.

A long time ago, I began to look for the everyday magic in life, and I think that the synchronous, life-changing experiences will come for any who are open and asking.

They certainly have for me, and they still do.

I call them Echoes From The Universe.

I love this thread.

Thank you, buddy.

I haven't had enough of them. Maybe I'm too stubborn to be aware of these moments (so they pass me by).

Thanks for sharing Care Bear :)

I don't know if it's necessarily stubbornness. But I do think that most of us were trained and conditioned to look only at those things that we can see, touch, taste, hear, and feel with our physical senses. I guess that I have a different lens than most.

I'm hoping that this thread gets some notice. I love this kind of stuff. :D

In life we have these all the time, but they are usually small, Stuff like finally figuring out which their, there, they're to use.

Most of the time, when floundering upon one of these the adjustment we make are at the fundamental level, and from then on we do it the new way, forget we ever did it the old way, and live just goes on.

So to catch one of these 'happenings' fresh is gonna be rare.

Just for the hell of it, here is an odd sentence, sure to madden all them non English speakers;

In the time it took to say 'They're there, their ice had melted"

I suppose figuring that out would make a lasting impression on one's life after that moment. LMAO

But I was really thinking more in terms of physical and spiritual awareness:

PHYSICAL: That epiphanic moment when you realize that you continue to make the same mistake over and over again and after this realization you never make that mistake again (maybe pushing all your chips in with KJ from UTG?)

SPIRITUAL: That epiphanic moment of elevated consciousness: you are the same person but you see things from a different perspective....existing in a state of consciousness from which you can look at your old self in awe at just how much you were sweating the small things in life when you should have been focusing on the big picture....

again, the thing is that the instant you have this epiphany, it becomes the norm. If you are lucky you might write something down about it, but for the most part things just changed to a new norm.

But when you have an epiphany you never forget it (hence use of the term epiphany). So the new norm will be one which you see through a new lens (since the epiphany changed the way you see things for the rest of your life).

And once you set into that new norm, do you wait for that next epiphany that will bring you even higher? lol

I think that most progress in nething comes from doing a lil something each day 2 come closer 2 realizing ur goal. as long as u put in some kind of effort each day to bring u jus a lil closer to your goal, you will eventually achieve it. d more effort u put in each day d sooner ur goal is reached.

i don't think it happens 2 often dat people wake up n suddenly they change their whole life around cause they now see d truth. people r like computers they get programmed to act in a certain way thru-out their lives n it takes a lot more than 1 day of truth for them 2 completely change their lives. this might happen once in a while just like royal flushes happen once in a while but i don't think it happens 2 often in people's lives. it takes a lot to brake free of the routines u get set in over ur lifetime: 4 many people change only happens when things get really bad...so this epiphany u speak of isn't real cause we already know what we r doing wrong in our lives but it takes something bad to happen for us to really change (like hit rock bottom). d best way people learn 2 change is by action not by some fantastic idea that inspires them all of a sudden. this is why there is a penal system n not a reform system for criminals: people learn best thru punishment n people tend 2 change only when they r forced 2

Ha exactly!!
I quit playing KJ altogether and KQ mostly and my game has drastically improved

remember that the cells in our bodies are transmitters and receivers and the brain can tell the cells what to transmit. The more focused you are with your transmissions the better results you will get.
Warning: stay away from negative thoughts and eat a good diet that will activate your pineal gland. (third eye)

Yes such an epiphany came after 1 straight year of losing, 2 short-lasting retirements, and a lot of theorizing. That 1 mistake cost me so much effort time and money to obtain I can't reveal it to anyone though.

I look at poker differently every day. Every aspect of my game is always in need of constant improvement. Recently I have realised the importance of setting intentions and paying close attention to these intentions. If I go into a poker session with the right mindset then I've won already. If I don't, I'm a fish.

I suppose the same could be said for life...

No you are not. Hear that Princessa? I'm not the only one that gets annoyed when you text me like that. Doesn't matter if you are posting from your phone or even sending me a message to my phone....still annoying....but I do think there is a lot of wisdom in what you said, Princessa, if I am able to look passed the d's, and 2's...lol

Looks like I found someone just as "crazy" as I am about the pineal gland. I believe there is so much about human intelligence that we don't know and a lot of it has to do with higher levels of consciousness. I think the pineal gland is instrumental in bringing you there.....but please don't ask me for scientific proof of this.....

So true. the right attitude will have you winning more often and when you do lose you can leave the table still feeling good and positive. I think it is all about attracting positive energy in your life: the things you want in life will come to you if the right attitude properly courts them....
