Hey guys! One question I have for all of you guys and am very curious as how do you balance your play time with studying time???

Do you play and study at the same time?? Or do you study a few important tips and then try to maniupulate them into your game for that session?

Depends

It completely depends on your own skill, commitments, and goals. Eg.
If you're a new player just starting off, invest like 80% of your time studying and 20% of the time playing, off the total time you're going to dedicate to poker.
If you're an average player, invest 50% of your time studying and 50% of the time playing, off the total time you're going to dedicate to poker.
If you're an exceptional player (pro), invest 20% of your time studying and 80% of the time playing, off the total time you're going to dedicate to poker.
If you're a prodigy, fCK studying, hit the tables and kill them all. :D

On the note of how to apply, don't apply a concept until you're very comfortable with it, like you-shouldn't-have-to-think-about-it-at-all-comfort level.

I put a higher percentage into playing than studying. I think one of the other things to keep in mind is when you are playing, not to try to focus on too many things at once. I like to study one or two concepts and then incorporate them into my game. You also need to do some evaluation after playing and re-reading to ensure you are applying what you learned properly.

Too many people think that they are going to read a book and be able to apply everything in it. That just is not the case.

If I am just playing on one table I will definitely take out my books and study. Sometimes if I come across some great strategy, I will try to apply it at the tournament I am currently in. Other times I will have my book on me so that if I am waiting around or just get bored I'll read a few pages to fill the time. I also like to watch the twitch poker players go at it while I am playing. That way I can see what they are up to and watch and learn from someone who is currently going through similar struggles as me.

Good Luck with Studying! :)

This depends on your own style , if you are getting the info very fast , or no so fast .. some guys need to study a little bit before playing .. for me its more easy to study first , or look at some videos , and after that i can go and play .

I started in poker a short time ago, I'm learning in practice and getting too much to tell the truth, I do not have much theoretical knowledge, what do you get me to start reading to understand more about poker?
