Hi guys!

I'm really stuck as to what i should be doing in terms of what i should play to make the most money, or be better at rather should i say.

I said about a month ago i started with a $10 bankroll, gradually built it up, then up and down for a month and then made a mistake of going HU's up at higher rate than my bankroll could handle. I managed to get out before i lost all my roll and starting grinding out SnG's and cash LIMIT games.

I'v consistently made profit at LIMIT 0.01/0.02. I'v been multi tabling to try get more VPP's on poker stars and been doing between 6-12 tables at once. I'v played around 2700 hands and have +$14 profit from these. Obviously because i tried out NL, other daft stakes i couldn't afford overall i'm in profit of around $2.

I also love SnG's 45/90 and since i started playing within my bankroll, i have been cashing and probably in profit. The negative ROI is purely based on the fact before i started studying poker properly i made 2/3 $10 deposits within 2 days and played $4 SnG's lol, so that knocked me down around $30 to start with.

Annnnyway, i decided after a thread i published a couple of weeks back to deposit an extra $90 and receive the 20% WCOOP deposit bonus they currently have going. I'v still been grinding but been playing 1 tables, tried a few double or nothing games and the cash limit games. My balance currently stands at around $120 dollars. Not great, but an overall profit. I'm trying to work towards getting the bonuses released and have just about 2weeks to receive my bonus and I'm only about 30% into getting the required amount of VPP's. Also I'm working towards my $10 stellar reward.

Sorry to dribble on here but the point I'm trying to get at is should i

A: Grind out $1 - 45,90 SnG's
B: Gring out $1 - STT SnG's
C: Grind out the 0.01/0.02 LIMIT hold em games

If you think neither, then please suggest.

My main objective is to release my bonus, so need to get the VPP's up. Obviously i don't want to loss my balance.

I would be more than happy to break even, receive my $20 and possibly $10 stellar rewards at the same time and have a bankroll of $150 to then work out where i go from here!

Any advice would be great.

Thanks, Ben.

When i need a bonus i always figure out how much i need to play, and then figure out if its possible.

Example: you get 1 vpp for x tour that takes you 2hrs to play. you need (say) 280vpp you have 14 days that's 20 tour a day, that you need to play. If your playing one at a time- your not going to make it. Once you figure out your quota than its easy. I have to play x amout of tours a day or i have to play x amount of hours in a cash game.

on a personal note if you start playing say 4 tour at a time to get your quota, your decisions are not usually optimal while multitabling and you might cost yourself money trying for your bonus, so whats $20 BUCKS if you could of made $30 bucks PLAYING OPTIMAL.

forget about the bonus and just play what your best at moving you br in your own time. sometimes chasing bonuses loses you more money than you get back but if your gonna do it anyway it has to be 6 max ring tables fast and effective but dont play them if your no good at them

Gotta agree with the other guys on this one

I try not to get caught up in "bonus fever" myself as from what people have told me in the past they tend to cost more to release them than they actually give you

If your already showing a profit in what your doing now I would just say keep at it and get your BR to a point where you can comfortably play what you want when you want

I agree with the others as far as bonuses go. I don't think I've ever cleared 100% of a bonus. Probably 30%-40% is average for me, and that's just fine. Don't exceed your comfort level trying to clear a bonus. I learned the hard way.

listen, i got in to bonus fever, i needed like 3000 hands at 10nl to clear a 50$ bonus, decided to go at it one day, so i played around 3000 hands at 10nl multi tabling like mad, and as i usually don't look at my bankroll while i play, only after the session is done, when i hit the bonus i looked at my bankroll and saw i lost 49$, i get my bonus and yey i am up 1$ after playing like 3.5 or 4 hours at 10nl.

than i look at my poker tracker 3 session for the day, i played well about 1000 hands, i was up like 15$ (1000 hands is my normal session) and than started making mistakes because i was way out of what i normally do, started playing bad and lost my profit plus another almost 50$. so be careful, i fell for it.

anyway, i would suggest 1 tables sngs.

best of luck.

As others said, don't get caught up in trying to get a bonus. A bonus is just that...a bonus...if you get it great...if not, whatever. As far as what to play, play your best game to grow your BR. Play limit HE and the 45/90 tournaments to build your BR....if you want to get better at another game, use those profits to do so and become a better all around player. I'm doing this right now in my MTT's. I'm a pretty good SNG player so I'm using those profits to fund my MTT entries and cash games. The goal is to improve in both areas and improve my overall poker game.

I completely agree with everything that's been said above.

As far as bonuses go.... I'd say if you've already been playing online for awhile, have a decent bankroll on a site(s), see another you want to sign up on & notice a good sign-up bonus.... 'great'... If you've already been playing 100nl or something, where clearing the bonus will be a given if you're playing. As far as chasing the bonus with a baby bankroll.... I think it's a really bad idea. Of course it depends upon what the bonus is (some are relatively easy to clear... others obviously aren't).
Another suggestion --> try sticking to one game for awhile. I think you'll find it more profitable in the longrun. And, don't think about your total bankroll too much. As long as you're playing within the buyin levels that your bankroll affords you to play in, then just keep playing & working at trying to improve upon your game (the bankroll will take care of itself imo).
