Tried multitabling early with horribly results and lost 3 buy ins at 2nl

I just couldn't keep up with 4 tables of 6max. which resulted in me making alot of stupid mistakes and even calling all in by accident.

So my question is how to deal with more tables and still play your best game over x amount of tables? Is a tracker a necessity when doing this as i could not pick up any reads as the action was so fast over 4 tables.

I'm sure we all started that way at some point, but be aware once you get used playing 4 at once playing only one will bore you to death lol. I play anywhere to 4-8 at once. I'm currently playing 1 tourney and 1 cash table, and looking through the forums lol

I like doing 2 tables on the right + firefox, but when I play 3 or more tables I can't seem to make a good layout for them. My question isn't about being able to handle multitabling but has anyone found a good layout for a single laptop screen? Also, does cascading work well? Any tips?

I only have one monitor and I like cascading my tables. I play between 6 and 20 at a time and I find that if I tile the tables they are way too small so I always find cascading to be best.
As Theriver said start moving from one table to two and so on and see how you go. Some people just cant multitable and if you find it affects your play and profit then stick to one. Better to win playing one table rather than lose on 4.

I only run 4 at a time on my laptop, and I just 4 corner then and equal out the screen. I never make it where I can't see all the tables I'm playing at all times...

I have been known to hook my laptop through HDMI and use my 60 inch tv when I wanna play a lot of tables

How much unused space do you get when you do that? Is there a way to make windows not keep their ratio?

You can equal them out on every client I believe, and if there is any extra space it won't be much. I'm very OCD about stuff, and I have to have it look right or it bothers me. You should just go open up as many tables as you want and play with them until you find something you like

I guessing all of you are using pokertracker 4 or other software while playing more than one table and playing abc (robotic) poker

I think you should just try out two tables for a bit before adding on any more.
I do not think you would need any tracker to add on more tables at micro buyins.

I'm a bit OCD as well so I wish to know exactly how you do it, especially if you use multiple clients.

You can "guess" whatever you'd like, but you'd be dead wrong. Some of us have been doing this for a long time and have pretty impressive mental processing power. It's a terrible failing for you (or anyone) to think that just because they can't do something that no one else can.

If you want to get better at multi-tabling, take the advice in this thread. Start with two tables. When you get comfortable with that, add a third. And so forth and so on. A lot of us here can comfortably play 8 tables --- and many of us more than that. If you work at it, you might get there.

I dont know if the question is really of how is the best way to keep track of the different tables that you may have going at one time, that alone may be a sign that you may want to ease in to it slowly adding a table, at a time....

but if that doesn't apply I would suggest using different colors to keep track of them

If you feel ready to play multi tables try build your games one by one. If you feel confortable on 2 tables you may try on 3, then 4. Playing on 24 tables is not easy at all. In youtube can see many players go multi tables but they were playing long time experiencing with less tables and finally got ready for more. Usually multi tables includes many lost buy ins but in the big picture it is in favor for your br. However it needs practice, confidence and concentrating.

Playing a mt for beginners its bad idea (if You are) You can't focus on players exacly for example how often someone bet and what kind of cards oppponents shows at the end its more important when You play sng less than cash.

You can't just jump from 0 to 100. You gotta get there slowly. What I mean is go double-tabling, when you feel confident and you see you are able to do it, try three tables. If you can't handle it and starting to see that you are slowly losing- go play at two tables at once. I think extreme multitabling is a skill that develops over time, because you need to be really concentrated.

It all depends on what speed your playing at. If you are doing hyper, you should drop down to turbos, if that's too fast, drop to regular so you have more time to think and make decisions. Good luck.

Play one table. At your stake.

If you cant beat that stake, move down.

As soon as you are playing one table at that stake and playing well, add another.

Rinse and repeat.

If you are having a hard time with 4 tables at 6max - 2nl, play 3 or 2 or 1.

You dont need to play fancy at 2nl. You need to value bet a LOT, and bluff RARELY. Folding should be you main play. Play less tables, and think more about why you are playing any hand.

Sound to me for the time being you should only focusing on one table first.Let your skill grow only then you can decide wether you gonna mtt or not IMO.

if you are not keeping the action then you must use a poker tracker otherwise you will lose a lot of info and you will be giving up advantage to your opponents

so try to play 2 or 3 tables and if are succesful there then keep it like this because maybe is humanly impossible to catch all the info in too many tables at the same time

Try getting a bigger screen for your computer, 32 inch or bigger, that will help.
