Obv you're a beginner so I wouldn't try to evaluate the game so much just yet.

Just learn the main rules & play as much as you can. Experience IMO, is the best tool to learn anything.

Use these couple of links I'll provide to understand the basic aspects of the game.

RAZZ WiKi

RAZZ TiPs

I hope this helps, man. GL!

If there are many books and online info, then with all due respect, why are you asking? Do the research and learn, it's like anything else. And of course the practice. You can start off with microstakes or even play money. But if you're gonna stick with it, make sure it's a game you enjoy.

I'm one of the very few people that don't like NLHE. It's not the game itself I dislike, as the odds are not that difficult to figure out - but the strategy to be a winning player, aside from odds and hand values.

Betsson Poker has a free Razz Freeroll. I had never played it before a few months ago, but have been playing the freeroll fairly regularly.
Like NL, start with good cards. For me, that is three starting cards all under 6 (and no pairs obviously). Then bet strong while you think you're ahead. Position means very little, as it could change with each betting round. You do need to get a player profile, as you want to go against weaker players.

Remember the folded low denominations and be aware of the upcards on the board.

Board awareness is very important in razz.

I try & keep my the first 3 cards 7 and under. But if position is on my side, I can be known to raise with anything.

Always check the other players hands before the fold. They might have 1 of what you need. This becomes easy to count once you have played a while.

First emboldened bad, 2nd one excellent. I think it's a critical mistake probably most people probably overlook, other cards on the table or folded. haha

But you don't raise with crap in limit, that pissing money.
