I recently started playing live poker since casino opened up in my small town. Anyway cash games are high buyin that i don't have money to play. So i started playing tournaments since it's 20$ buyin. It's a small town and people are not interested so much in poker , last night was a freeroll tournament and it had only 30players.

I don't have much experience playing poker , I only played like 32 hours total on pokerstars ending up loosing all my money and with friends low cash games 5$.
Last tournament was 20$ buyin , first time I'm playing live what's important to me is that i didn't loose first :) Last night was a 500$ freeroll tournament , out of 30 players I ended up in a final table , and I ended up 7th ..only 4 players are getting payed.

Anyway since I know some things about poker and I know in live plays what's important is bodylanguage and mathematics , I was wondering if you could help me out with these 2. How can i practice my observation skills. And how to practice strategy ?

I am a losing player too but I think you should focus on the math, MUCH easier to master. Body language can be deceptive

the best way to increase observation skill is to observe :p try to pick up some habits example : one player talks when he is real strong , another player talks when bluffing etc. learn the basic maths like pot odds, outs etc

It happened as you say that you have recently started this game in your time and you have only 30 players, it is common as you have start your business in small town and it will take time to populate these game in the town, you must use several strategies to win this game like first be selective with your starting hands, be prepared your self for downswings, take a study in each week, change your style of playing every time, be aware of your position.
