re: Poker & Starting my very part time online poker career. Advice
For some reason your question conjours memories of the movie Shawshank Redemption where they're all sitting around in the lunch hall and Andy asks what someone is in for "Didn't your know? We're all innocent in here!"
Random? Yes. Fitting? Possibly.
You've started your career in the right place. I've only been playing since January and cardschat had changed me from a total fish to a minnow with some big effing teeth so congratulations on stumbling across a wealth of excellent information and knowledgable players who are more than willing to help where they can.
I would recommend playing 2nl or 5nl to start. I play on poker stars
so there are still a lot of regs at those tables so there can be some challenging spots but both are still pretty easy to beat. Even 10nl is pretty easy but I must add a caveat that I've only tried 10nl once recently and did pretty well.
I use Holdem Manager personally but you can try Poker Tracker and Holdem Manager for 30days free to see which one you like.
Bank roll is what you can afford to loose. Just remember at higher stakes you potentially could loose it faster
And am I profitable? I'm digging myself out of a hole that I created for myself early on so the answer to that is getting clearer.
Good luck and have fun!
Oh ya I play full ring cash.
