Welp gang, it finally happened...I went busto! From $250 back to 0.20. That sucks!

Anyway, I'm back for a new challenge! Besides isn't this the life poker players glamorize on a regular basis?!!

This go around, I wanted to try a challenge demonstrated by Donkr in "PLO From Scratch " article where he took $250 and turned it into $4000 playing PL5 6-Max. The challenge seems doable but the site I play on (America's Card Room) has a limit of $150 for how much you can deposit.

My question for you guys (and gals) is how should I approach this challenge from a bankroll stand point? Am I under rolled for PL5 and should start at PL2 instead?

As always, I will keep you guys updated on my progress.

Why not try the challenge of learning to beat the micros for a solid win rate?

Ok...so what would be a solid win rate? I don't want the challenge to be strictly about the money. To be completely honest, the money is extra.

Can PLO microstakes really be beaten with guys 3-betting 6x the big blind out of position with AAxx or what have you? That's been a major issue I have with the microstakes these days.

The micros are beatable whether you play NLH or PLO. You'll run into wild players in either game. If their presence makes you uncomfortable, that doesn't make the game unbeatable. It means you have to adapt both your play and your attitude in order to beat it.

As for win rate, the first step toward achieving a decent one is looking to break even over a decent sample size.

Its better to start from the bottom then level up bit by bit if you accumulate much BR.

Dont join stakes you cant afford.

You have to follow BR management. Example of such system is:
At least BR=> 100 bigblind for cashgames and BR=> 100 buyins for tourneys.

Goodluck.

I would recommend you to start from a middle point. If you start too low, meaning with this micro tables, you will end up loosing your mind because you are not used to it. Staking all your money will probably get you nervous and you won't risk the hands that you must risk, so the best strategy in cases like this is starting in a mid point.

You can also try tournaments or SNG, depends on what fits you.

This is BRM, but certainly not good BRM.

100bb = 1 buyin. A *minimum* of 30 buyins is much more reasonable = 3000bb
