Im moving to Dublin to try play poker for a living.

My starting roll is 3000 euro.

What would you play? if you were equally good? I know 3000 euro is quite small..

1-2 euro (rake 9 euro for 1 hour) or 30-75 euro Mtts? What have the least chance of busting?

I got living expenses for 6 months so i don't have to worry about winning for the first months :)

Hope you can help me out!!

I can't exactly speak to what limits you should be playing, but I will offer you one piece of advice. Be VERY sure of your abilities before pursuing poker as a profession.

If you believe with your skills to win maybe that's good enough. Living in a new place can be difficult cause even if your skillful. You might encounter players much better to you and your 3000 euro might gone faster than winning.

What sort of top prize can you expect for these 30 euro mtts? If I were you I'd probably mix it up and play some cash games when the tables look weak and you feel you have an edge and if the cash games don't look good play an mtt you that day. Are there many casinos in Dublin? I'm in ireland but I'm up in donegal, we have no real live venues here that make it worthwhile going out to play live unfortunately.

I'm actually going down to Dublin at the start of April for 2 days, one of those days is for a concert but my other day is free for shopping/maybe a trip to a casino so hopefully you will have already been to a casino and can leave a review here for me please? :)

That is definitely not enough to play tournaments for anything close to 6 months. better stick to cash games until you build it up.

Hope you have another source of income during this 6 months. :)

Good luck!

wow 6 months goes quick, and 3,000 euro is not much.. only advice i can say is get a planner, write up your day, don't become distracted with stupid Apps/iphone/social media etc. hustle on your game to become better, and put in the work since this is your living around 80-100 hours per week.. and do not move up in stakes and risk your bankroll at all, no tournaments, play cash games, become a bankroll nit.. high discipline i wish u the best of luck

The biggest problem players have is keeping bank roll separate from living expenses. While this seems "easy" or "obvious" it really is a problem just about everyone struggles with. If you truly have 3000.00 you can just play with and not touch for any expenses or touch any winnings, you could play 1/2 and be just fine.

I would run my bankroll up to 10K in the 6 months (I do think it would take that long) and from there begin to live off anything above 10K.

I would NEVER move up in stakes for several reasons. 1. You are no where near the bankroll necessary to play 5/10 which I would want around 50k. 2. The more you move up the better the players are.

I have a few friends that play for a living. Despite what perceptions you may have it is NOT a glamours life. It is 10 hour days sitting at a poker table grinding away. They are successful not because they are really that great, its because they are disciplined. This is especially true with money management.

I personally would try to win 100 euro a day for the first 3 months to get to 10K, bank the next 3 months as living expenses, then after the 6 months is up keep things rolling.
