I keep a sklanski chart on my desktop, fairly stuck on it for starting hands, but my question to everyone is how much weight should I place on my recorded history and results for each hand.

Just started back with poker stars a little while ago and only have a 5000 hand sample size, but according to my hand history my hands are presently ranked according to winning as follows.

1. AJo
2.AA
3.KQs
4.99
5.QJo
6.AKo
7.Q2s
8.QQ
9.Q9s
10. 66
11, 88
12 KK

Some surprising results for the biggest losers, 7-3s has beaten ATo and AKs is near the bottom of the pack. Nearly every hand has beaten AKs. AKs has only returned me chips once.

Some of those top hands are instant folds, just played cheap from the blinds.

My question, may sound stupid, but should I pay attention to these stats, or pitch them and assume things will even out given more hands.

I guess it depends on severeal differnt factors on hand selection...thats a nice cor of hands for sure. But for me my biggest pots are based on table dynamics ( i play alot of micro mtts) , stack sizes and table reads..
Are you playing cash?

... i think 5k is a pretty small sample size ... not a fan of charts or such really , more about playing the player and position .. the AKs thing is unusual , could be more about the play of the hands then the hands themselves .. maybe post some hand histories and see if there's an issue there , variance is a long term game .. short term anything is possible .. gl

you PRF - can be 100%, but if postflop sucks - it does not matter.
One of the biggest problems is not letting go postflo you KK with a bord that has lush on the flop or Axx
in addition it depends on how you play them AA vs AQs. there will be a difference if you jam Aqs and (smartly) low roll AA for max value

That kind of stats really don't help much. It depends on quite a few things the main ones being:

1. How many times have you been dealt each hand.

2. How do you play them.

3. The stakes you play.

A hand known as trash can become a winning hand if on your flop, turn or river as connected a hand monster .... in michas times AA nomsignificas that you are winner of the hand, I prefer to start a tournament with cards

Of the same suit many players tend to go to big bets and even with A which reduces your outs

surprising after 5k hands your Q2s hand is still in top 10. However this does show that you r not really opening your hands range. premium hands mostly

I used to have 64s as my fav hand. Made more money with 64s(When i played nitty) than with 99.

Is 64s better than 99 or did i just play better with rags than a vulnerable value hand?

Your optimal style depends on other peoples perception of poker and your game. Some tables playing more than 25% of hands is asking for trouble while some tables let you see every flop unless they have AA or KK. Figure out what you do better than opponents and exploit while looking for more.
It can be mentally exhausting but that's why playing poker 16 hours straight isn't a good choice for most humans.

One comment about Sklansky charts I believe they where made for limit holdem so they might not to be 100% accurate for NL

I agree your sample size is still small. I would also wonder about your sample size of each hand and how it is rated as I am unfamiliar with poker stars rating system. I would not play any of those hands more as quality hands I am sure you are playing enough and marginal hands will likely even out costing you money.

I have this old program not supported any more called poker spy. It basically just recovers and reports all the hands I had dealt to me from the History file. Its rather surprising is it not.

Certainly not what I recall, but I guess online poker has changed.

Like just now, I ask when 4 of us are all in, 3 are holding A, I have KK and an A cracks. Makes me want to scream BS.

Oh well, just my every 10 minute cooler, I suppose.
