Hey all! New to this chat!

I'm very excited to start playing Nl hold em again. I was always on and off playing online poker ( once I lost my bankroll I usually just stopped playing) I would study a little online tips about micro and stuff, and once I thought I was a "winning player" I would immediately go up in rank and lose my money.

I now want to start from complete scratch. Just as if it's my first time being introduced to poker. Any books, tips, guides whatever you can provide me with, or even your own experience on how you started poker and got better would be very helpful. Thank you very much. God bless.

Ya, I think starting with the freerolls, then moving to the money added forum games, and when your roll supports it move to the micro buyin games.

Welcome to CC! It sounds like reading about bankroll management might be useful to help ensure you don't move up to quickly and lose your money.

Other than that get involved in freerolls or stay in the low limits until you've racked up a serious number of hands and can make a good call on whether or not you're ready to move up in stakes.

Best of luck!

Thank you for all of your advice!

Grinded about 8 hrs of .2-.5 yesterday.

So true that one mistake could put u back to square one. Learned alot of poker yesterday and reviewing my hands and how badly I would play some, and hands I would not get the most value from.

Good to hear that you are going back and reviewing your play for leaks. An honest review of ones play is what holds many players back. Good luck!

I just picked it up again too about a little over a month ago now. I have been grinding freerolls to get back into it. Rather than risk my own $$$. With all the new players around and young talent I didn't want to start in anything I couldn't handle and lose my bankroll playing. After grinding freerolls for a month I have built up $28.05. Hoping to turn it into something. Only time will tell.

Good Luck on your poker journey!

Hi there! You can start again by reading David Sklansky's Theory of Poker. (If you didn't already!) And then move on to other more specific books, about hold em and tournaments. Best regards

There are 3 good rules that help greatly to newcomers:

1. Proper Bankroll management
2. Proper Bankroll management
3. Proper Bankroll management

Have at least 50 Buy-ins! If you have just 10$, that means you can play sit n gos with 0.20 buy-in. If you have 50$, you can have even cash games with 1$ buy-in. Practice, practice, and when you see some results, attempt to fish in wealthier waters.

You could say that with molecular stakes you cant earn any money. Thats true. But its either micro stakes and good survival thanks to proper BRM, or its some money with huge risks involved. With newcomers especially, it is better to go survivalist path.
