pre flop i had a
ace and 4
call blinds but someone raised a all in

i know that a 4 is not a strong card so i folded

that person eventually won the game with ace high

and 2 4 came on flop and river

i kicked my self for not going all in pot was 16k worth

eventually the blinds killed me in play
and i was out of game

did i make the proper decesion to fold the ace 4 or should i have gone for a all in?

thank you

Well, you didn't give much information about the blinds, your position, or stack sizes.

Generally, I'm not calling an all-in with such a weak hand, unless I'm up against a very short stack.

It also depends on your opponents and what you think you might be up against.

It's easy to look at the board after the fact and feel like you "should have called," but you should focus on what the correct play was in the first place.

Never, ever let the board that comes later influence how you feel about a play you made before the cards came out.

^^ that and if you had called, the random number generator would have produced a different board, so u wouldnt have hit trip 4's
but u made the correct decision to fold

i know that at the time i didnt know what it was

that wasnt the question

the question was if i run into the same experience would i go after the ace 4 pre flop all in

and obviously its a no.....

no use arguing semantics with a situation that is uncontrollable

NO, A-rag all in will lose you money over the long haul. Period. End of story. You made a correct decision.
