I've started off playing a tight post flop style and want to start branching out and i'm looking for some advice in regards to this. Atm, i rarely stack with TPTK or an OP for 100bb unless their unbelievably fishy. However, i just watched a video by stox and he seems to be willing to stack light for 100bb. I've watched two of his vids and 3times he was willing to push without a monster.

One hand he had QQ 6max and the flop size was $100 and the villain had $800 behind..on a board of J72rainbow so pretty dry. And he says 'i'm willing to stack here' which surprised me(he had him covered).. i don't think he had much of a read on the player either.

Another hand was KQ and the villian did seem semi spewy and he said vs this player i'll stack TP. The flop comes down KJ2 and he said if he comes over the top..i'm pushing. Once again...the pot was about $100 and they had around $1000 behind.

Also, the last hand i saw.. he had AQ on a board of A755 and he got min raised on the flop, then he checked and the player bets 3/4 pot. He said this is a tough spot, but if i had AK i'm definitely playing for stacks..but AK, 77 r possible holdings so i'll fold.

Well he is a high limits player and won millions..so maybe i'm playing way too weak on the flop. I just had a hand vs a 40/25 fish type and i 3bet him with TT and the flop came 258 and he was all in for 150bb and i felt i can't really call this. But i'm sure the stox was all in 100% of the time here and i think i should have been. I always see ppl saying players at low stakes r easy to stack with OP to sets...and therefore, i try and avoid these spots where i'm the idiot stacking off with them.

I take it vs maniac's and fish..this pretty much goes out the window. What should i be looking for on my HUD cos i'm on 9tables. High Vpip, high PFR and high AF and just be willing to go all in for 100bb's vs this type of player. Btw what would be class as high Vpip +30 or is 40 a safer number and PFR of around 15% etc?

Do you play full ring or 6max? 6max is a lot more aggressive so your requirements to play for stacks are a lot lower than FR. Also, stox is playing at much higher stakes than most of us, so aggression is also a lot higher there.

Yeah, it'd pretty much blow your mind what high limit players are willing to stack with. Because players are so aggressive and bluff so much, stacking with TPTK becomes more acceptable. But even then, they're not stacking against fish with TPTK, just players that are aggressive.

It's interesting how aggression goes through the roof at higher stakes. It obviously must be an optimum style of play :) i'm playing at FR btw. I'm winning at my nanostakes, so i shouldn't change winning formula. I might start stacking lighter though on reads. Rahter than sticking to a restrictive style of only stacking with 2pair plus etc.

Thanks.

Bingo. A solid read will earn you more money in your poker career than anything else, and if you have a read that says so, you can break just about every rule in poker.
