Example 1

Board is

K286T

Player 1 has: T3
Player 2 has: T5

This would be a split pot correct? Seeing as there is a King on the board which is higher than either player kickers?

Example 2

Board is

TJ347

Player 1 has: KT
Player 2 has: 9T

Player 1 would win with his King kicker as it's higher than any other card on the board correct?

Just want to check to see if I have both of these examples correct

You're playing the 5 best cards. So if there is a higher kicker on the board you look at the second best kicker. In example 1 player has TTK86 and player 2 has the same hand. If player 1 had T7 for example, player 1 would win with TTK87 vs TTK86.

Example 2:
Player 1 has TTKJT and player 2 has TTJ97 so player 1 wins indeed.

Will give you 2 more examples to make you understand it:
Player 1: AJ
Player 2: A2
Board: AKKQ2
This will be a split pot since player 1 has AAKKQ and player 2 has AAKKQ. The J doesn't count because you ain't playing 6 cards.

Last example:
Player 1: JJ
Player 2: TT
Board: KKKKJ
result: Split pot. Both players have KKKKJ as the best hand.

Let me know if you have more questions!

That simplifies things. Thanks I understand that now.
