When you're starting poker it is difficult to get your head round the number of outs and the corresponding odds, or you may have a little difficulty with the maths. Here is something else you could try as a tenporary replacement. When the flop goes down look at your hand and decide on the reasons to play or the reasons to fold. Also factor in any betting up to your turn to act. Which of the play or fold reasons dominate is your decision and stick with it.

No doubt the math is very important, today I play poker more concentrated, I take my thinking before acting in certain situations, I read the board, I try to guess which card my opponent is holding. Before I did not play that way, before I paid no attention to anything, I simply played with the cards that were in my hand, and still criticized who was at the time with the following question. Poor life! Why does this guy always take time to act when it's his turn?
