When playing cards, how do you tell when someone is bluffing?

Honestly, you will almost never know that someone is bluffing. You will frequently however have enough information to know that the range of hands that someone is likely to play that way contains enough bluffs to justify a call.

Too hard to tell online.

When playing cards, how do you tell when someone is bluffing?
Online you may never know if you have been bluffed, if the player in question mucks their cards. What realy hurts is in a monster pot you have chased, but folded to a massive reraise or all in. And then they show you bogus cards that you had beat hands down. Now thats a bluff with a little salt in your wound.

yeah very hard to tell, like a few others said, stack size and close to the bubble in tourneys, I believe there is alot of bluffing, but be aware, I never bluff more than I am willing to lose.

You can guess if someone is bluffing after the type of play he has...

you have to play some time with him to have a chance to guess if he is bluffing..

I own a crystal ball.

You needed to make two posts for that?

One way I tell a player is there betting patterns. Watch how a players bets when they have a hand, and try to see if there are any different betting patterns when they are bluffing. You can look at the hand history to find this out.

What the hell is wrong with my second post?
If a mod wanted to delete my dumb remark (which really is about on par with the amount of thought that appears to have gone into the OP), I'd have no issue with it.
